I think a good plan would be to anticipate New Orleans having the SB every eight years, with the option to move that up or down a year or two based on other stadium developments. It shouldn’t be 12, 15 years to wait for the big game to come back here because places like East Rutherford want to get in the mix. New Orleans does not lack for problems but it gets hosting this event right every time.

That we most definitely do. It really boils down to we host a massive 4 day event every signal year that being the big weekend of Mardi Gras and Jazzfest is pretty much a semi-massive 2 weekend event we do every year. It comes down to practice and repetition. There is no city in America as practiced at doing mega events as the New Orleans metro is. I am sure Nashville will bring this to the table as well but there also really is no substitute for southern hospitality.

We do have some shortcomings. Florio wrote last week that NOLA shoukd be in a 4 year rotation with some random city and Las Vegas and Miami. He linked this article:

We could indeed use some more reasonably priced hotel rooms and infact some of that is popping up just across the river in Gretna. We also need a better venue for the NFL honers. The Sanger is smallish as is the Orphium. If they ever get the river front Pelicans arena built they may want to think about that in its construction. All and all if that’s all they are cuttting up about we got it made. Their complaints about the Dome are unfounded. It isn’t Los Angeles or Jerry World but it’s not bad at all. Who ever wrote this obviously had not been to the dome since it was redone.
