Somebody ease my mind (1 Viewer)

I'll try, since everyone here is either superstitious sissy la las or killjoys

Their OL is 4 new players so chances are, our DL will feast. They should struggle blocking run and pass.

Their secondary is garbage.

Tannehill is an average journeyman who can't do it by himself.

Besides Henry who are you afraid of?
.
How is Henry gonna succeed against one of the best Defenses in the NFL unless they defy all odds and their new OL that's never played together puts out a flawless effort?

Yeah yeah they have a decent head coach. Is he suiting up?

Saints win unless they are careless with the football.
Agreed as I said in the other thread, we will eat that O Line ALIVE

Relax!!! Even the mighty Chiefs are 0-1. It’s not the end of the world!
Yeah, the entire sports world is nuts.
When is the last time Kansas City, LSU, & Clemson all started 0-1?

I don't know why, but the Titans don't scare me. Mainly because of their QBs. Henry is not going to be the back of 3 years ago. I just don't think they can run their way to beating us.
Ummmmmm…..Henry is coming off a 1500 yard rushing season, almost 2000 all purpose yards, and 13 TDs (while missing 1 game against you know who (dat)). Talking heads called it a “down year” for him🤣🤣🤣. Better believe Henry can still tote the rock……however, those 350 carries he had, could be a dagger to his health. Typically RBs that have that kind of workload in a season, are prone to injury the following year, but Henry is a freak of nature, so he still scares the 💩 out of me.

NoPe.

The Saints probably lose because it’s an experienced defense vs an offense with a new QB, missing a key piece and still learning what it can be.

They have a mobile QB and are an offense that can convert 1st downs potentially gassing our elder defense late in the game.

We either win by 3 or lose by 3
I disagree.
Titans offensive line is gonna be bottom tier.

This. Just gonna give to you straight. The titans has played this style of game as long as I remember. They don’t let you get ahead and if they do it’s not by much. The team that makes the least mistakes wins period. I am optimistic though. Crowd noise and our efficiency on offense will definitely play a factor. I hate Kamara is not playing because he could be the X factor in the pass game. I don’t expect us to be able to run much but we have to keep them honest.
I get narrative stop DH, Stop the running game blah, blah, blah. While that is valid, the truth is they have always been good at countering that over aggression with the pass. That’s where need to be concerned.

It’s week one… anything can happen as there will be surprises from both teams.

The Titans have 4 new players on their O line. And da 5th player has been moved from LG to C. So they’ll actually have 5 new players “at their position” along the O line. But make no mistake, Derrick Henry is still HIM!

Meanwhile, the Saints have only returning one starter of their own on their D line from last year in Cam Jordan. So is this matchup a “wash”? I don’t think so. In fact, I’ve been on board n excited with all of our new additions, ESPECIALLY at DT, all offseason!!!

IMO, goin up against da Titans n Henry in the season opener will be as good a test as it gets for em!

We’ll see!

The Titans offensive line will not be bottom tier. I understand they have 4 new starters but it’s detrimental to their season. They put in place guys to make that machine go. Might just be our luck that this is the first game and they don’t have the continuity yet. Crowd noise will be huge.

Interesting nugget about their Oline, didn’t know that. I’d feel better if Henry wasn’t a dang giant RB with crazy speed. Although, I’d prefer to play him at full health and we seem to be healthy going into our 1st game. I think we win, but I think it will be a close one.

I love this teams makeup, and am expecting big things from them. But, I need my mind put at ease.

This game against the Titans scares me. They match up really well with us, and they are a very physical team.

I'm not too scared of their offense, other than Henry, mainly because of their revamped line.

But, their defense scares me. I'm worried about this game. Heck, even ross Jackson is picking the Titans.

Someone put my mind at ease
You will be okay come Monday

Yep!

IMO, a big key in limiting Henry is DO NOT let him run “north/south” up the middle!!! Force him to have bounce outside n run “east/west”! Yeah, I know it’s easier said than done, but we’ll see!

The other way is for our O to keep him on the bench! Use ball control n scoring TDs! Force Tannehill n their O to rely more on the pass, which COULD essentially take Henry outta the game. But like I posted earlier, the one Titans player that actually scares me the MOST is DT Jeffery Simmons!!! Gotta control him for our O to succeed!

I don’t feel overly optimistic about this game. It feels winnable but I also know how flat we come out to start seasons and against a seasoned team like the Titans - it’s possible that they just grind us down.

However, I’m not a too bothered by those feelings. I’m just happy to have football back.

I think most teams have learned the belichick lesson by now. Take away #1 threat and make them beat you with the others. Can the Titans do that with their 2nd option? Now ask the same question about us....if they stop Kamara can we still win? Not even sure Kamara is our biggest threat...we have a 1a, 1b, 1c kinda deal. If Pete can get his sheet together calling plays we'll beat them by 14.
