Spencer Rattler’s first start was… (2 Viewers)

Most of those open receivers were later in the read progression and he did not have time to get to that read.

As far as drafting a top talent sure, but that guy isn't likely to be in the draft this year. I don't really like any of the potentially draft eligible QBs this year. Maybe the next draft.
I don't buy it. Just looking at that last real drive in the 4th quarter, he had Shaheed wide open in front of him on 2nd down. Then on the 3rd down roll-out, he's got a WR streaking as his first read. He threw it over the top out of bounds to Shaheed instead.

If it wasn't a single read, he wasn't doing it today. Could he get better? Sure. Could he not? Sure. We have no idea after this game.

The answer is …. A typical rookie QB 1st start performance of a guy with top tier NFL talent.

We need to see more under much better support circumstances from the offense and defense.
The only way we’re going to get to see Rattler perform with better offensive talent around him is to trade him to another team.

And he was the best player on the field in black and gold today. Carr would have been no better today with that little time to throw and no running game. In fact, Rattler's ability to buy time and make throws on the run allowed plays to be made that Carr can't make.
A healthy Carr absolutely would have been better.

What that means to you is up to you. Being better doesn't mean he should be the future QB because comparing a 10-year vet to a rookie isn't fair. But he's a better QB today, and it's not close.

I liked what I saw from Rattler overall. My only problem was where was the adjustment when Bowles starting blitzing him every possession from the last drive in the first half. That was inexcusable!!!!

Honestly Kubiak needed to do a better job having some options for him against the blitz. I didn't see much of an adjustment. I think the plan was to run to stop them from blitzing and when that didn't work, Kubiak had no counter.

Zero chance. Most of the plays we made were with Rattler out of the pocket. That is not a place Carr ever ventures to. If Carr had started, Haener would have finished.

Disagree. Carr could have easily had a Falcons-type game today against that defense. There were guys open all day and Rattler just didn't have the experience to find them.

But I might as well be talking to a wall. I get it. No one likes Carr and people want Rattler to be the guy. So it doesn't matter.

No way. He would have looked like he looked against KC. Carr has no mobility in the pocket and can't make many of the plays Rattler made. Maybe he hits a couple deep throws to Shaheed but Carr would not have been better overall. And that's not a shot at Carr. He's a solid NFL staring QB but not much can be done in the offense with no running game and no pass protection.

This team is absolutely crippled by injuries. Team doctors and str training need to be cleared out. Got to get rid of that artificial grass system it's killing us every single year.

That field and fields similar to it is atrocious.

Those open guys weren't thrown to because there was no time to get the ball to them. Carr would not have changed that.

Anyway, even if that were true, it's time to get Rattler the experience he needs to be able to do those things. He has the talent. It's time to find out if he can develop.
