Steelers game plan...stop Reggie Bush (1 Viewer)

if these teams ever stop game planning for Reggie he is going to torch them, in the meantime, Deuce, Drew, Marques and Joe will torch them

Drew Brees has had over 1000 yards passing and 9 Td's in our last three games against the Eagles, Bucs and Ravens. If you average that over a season he would crush some records (5300+yards, 48 Td's). For the life of me I don't understand why teams aren't focused on shutting down the Saints offense as a whole rather than one player. I know Reggie can torch anybody on any given play but look at the alternative.

Don't get me wrong I am not complaining and if the Steelers do in fact come out and focus on Bush then we are going to stomp the Steelers.

I called it! I called it, Reggie's first 100 yard rushing game this Sunday.

Here we go having this debate again...

This must be the gazillionth thread this week that travels down this same path.

Where is Mr. Banana when you need some levity?

I think players are more worried about their pride than whether they win or lose. Its sad but true. The media has made Reggie Bush out to be some kind of superman. They are the ones that are creating this image of him being a "savior" or "the golden boy" so defensive players don't want to be the first one to get run all over on by him. You can see it in the games this year. As soon as Reggie touches the ball defenders seem be in the backfield. It just seems to me that the defenses we've played could care less if the rest of the Saints offense burns them as long as Reggie Bush doesn't do it. Let them keep doing that because they will still have their pride while we're winning the game.

Everybody knows that if you stop Reggie, the Saints become one-dimensional. As goes Reggie, so go the Saints. Just look at the stats.

/sarcasm

Something tells me that Dick LaBeau is smarter than this and knows if the whole defense keys on Reggie, that Drew will find the open man. I am guessing that he is studying the Ravens tape right now. I think that what he will find when he studies the tape is that we even moved the ball against the Ravens. Pick your poison Steelers.

Sarcasm wasnt required... the 2 games we lost reggie had an awful game - turnovers... if u put reggie man on man - he will kill you - the game is over...

Looks like its going to be another productive day for Brees and our WRs.

Reggie is obviously alot more important than some people think he is on here. I guess all these defensive coordinators have no clue what they are doing? Why would they need to stop Reggie? Maybe, just maybe, they do know what they are doing, and if they don't game plan for him they know he will burn thier butt. Maybe they see things he is doing that we don't. Maybe that is why they are defensive coordinators and we sit on a computer wishing we were a defensive coordinator.

Unless he was just spouting 'the party line', and in actuality, they are convinced, like a number of Saints fans evidently are, that Reggie is a decoy at best, and that the focus should be to disrupt Brees. In that case, this upcoming game could be a memorable one for Reggie...taking advantage of their aggressive secondary stunt pursuits/blitzes.
