Yes it can. The calculation for division ranking and draft order use two different metrics. So it’s possible for a team to finish ahead of another in division and still have a better draft slot.

We will pick 9th, at best 8th. We can’t leapfrog any of the other teams based on the strength of schedule I saw yesterday. Now I was using an AI tool to help me come to this conclusion, but if they win it will lower their strength of schedule of the other 5-7 teams enough to raise our pick above theirs. We needed the colts to lose to jags, which didn’t happen, but if the dolphins win we can move to 8th. The best we could have gotten was 7th, but after the colts beat the jags, only the dolphins game will effect us.

Unless the AI tool was wrong.
