The tie breaker is strength of schedule, weakest strength of schedule picks before worse strength of schedule and we cannot leapfrog the raiders. We could end up 6th in the best case scenario.

Any chance you can explain how that works? Genuinely curious. Here’s who we need to win: Jets, Raiders, Seahawks, Cardinals, Broncos, and Vikings. If this all happens we have a shot at the 6th pick.
SOS does change based on the outcomes of the games, but I don't know by how much. 7th looks like the max to me, but I don't know. The tie breaker is strength of schedule, weakest strength of schedule picks before worse strength of schedule and we cannot leapfrog the raiders.
I had the AI adjust the strength of schedule based on various outcomes. I didn’t look at all of them, but anything I thought was close. Our schedule was so easy we only moved up if a handful of underdog teams won, and only the bears that were on the list were have done so. Now I may have over looked a a scenario or two but I’m fairly certain, dolphins with we draft 8, dolphins lose we draft 9.SOS does change based on the outcomes of the games, but I don't know by how much. 7th looks like the max to me, but I don't know.
As raiders have a stronger strength of schedule than us, if we have the same record, we leapfrog them. Think of it this way, our record is worse because we played weaker teams to arrive at 5-12.The tie breaker is strength of schedule, weakest strength of schedule picks before worse strength of schedule and we cannot leapfrog the raiders.
I guess we would want every team that Carolina played that the Saints didn't, to win. That could possibly bump their SOS up enough?SOS does change based on the outcomes of the games, but I don't know by how much. 7th looks like the max to me, but I don't know.
Maybe so. This is harder than figuring out the cap.I guess we would want every team that Carolina played that the Saints didn't, to win. That could possibly bump their SOS up enough?
Who could we pass if the Dolphins win?I had the AI adjust the strength of schedule based on various outcomes. I didn’t look at all of them, but anything I thought was close. No other results change strength of schedule enough to make other 5 win teams have an easier strength of schedule than us.
Seems like the panthers were closest, but I didn’t examine what we would need to leap frog the panthers. So maybe that’s how we get to 7.
Either way we need the dolphins to win.
Fins winning doesn't do anything for Saints. I think.Who could we pass if the Dolphins win?
That's what I see as well. It looks like we are 9th right now with the possibility of moving to 8th with a Jets win. Last year 5 win teams picked 5th and 6th respectively. What a difference a year makes.I had the AI adjust the strength of schedule based on various outcomes. I didn’t look at all of them, but anything I thought was close. Vegas win moves us to 8th. Jets win doesn't help us based on SOS.Fins winning doesn't do anything for Saints. I think.
I thought it was the Raiders winning that gets us to pick 8?That's what I see as well. It looks like we are 9th right now with the possibility of moving to 8th with a Jets win. Last year 5 win teams picked 5th and 6th respectively. What a difference a year makes.
So Jets-Fins doesn't matter?Vegas win moves us to 8th. Jets win doesn't help us based on SOS.
The post you quote says the opposite. He was saying it is possible to move up to 8 if the Jets lose. That's what I see as well. It looks like we are 9th right now with the possibility of moving to 8th with a Jets win. Last year 5 win teams picked 5th and 6th respectively. What a difference a year makes.
In a multi team tiebreak for draft order it goes to SOS. The weakest SOS picks first. Those specific teams winning makes the SOS go up for the teams we are tied with, specifically the Jets and Panthers. If the Raiders win, we are picking no worse than 8th.Any chance you can explain how that works? Genuinely curious.
