I had the AI adjust the strength of schedule based on various outcomes. I didn’t look at all of them, but anything I thought was close. Our schedule was so easy we only moved up if a handful of underdog teams won, and only the bears that were on the list were have done so. Now I may have over looked a a scenario or two but I’m fairly certain, dolphins with we draft 8, dolphins lose we draft 9.

No other results change strength of schedule enough to make other 5 win teams have an easier strength of schedule than us.

Seems like the panthers were closest, but I didn’t examine what we would need to leap frog the panthers. So maybe that’s how we get to 7.

Either way we need the dolphins to win.

As raiders have a stronger strength of schedule than us, if we have the same record, we leapfrog them. Think of it this way, our record is worse because we played weaker teams to arrive at 5-12.

The post you quote says the opposite. He was saying it is possible to move up to 8 if the Jets lose.

In a multi team tiebreak for draft order it goes to SOS. The weakest SOS picks first. Those specific teams winning makes the SOS go up for the teams we are tied with, specifically the Jets and Panthers. If the Raiders win, we are picking no worse than 8th.
