In a multi team tiebreak for draft order it goes to SOS. The weakest SOS picks first. Those specific teams winning makes the SOS go up for the teams we are tied with, specifically the Jets and Panthers. If the Raiders we win, we are picking no worse than 8th.

As raiders have a stronger strength of schedule than us, if we have the same record, we leapfrog them. Think of it this way, our record is worse because we played weaker teams to arrive at 5-12.

Right. In a way WEAKNESS of schedule is desirable for draft positioning. It’s a bit like negative numbers: the higher the number, the worse the team is considered to be and therefore the higher the draft position.

Vegas win moves us to 8th. Jets win doesn't help us based on SOS.

Also, because we tied with Carolina but they had a lower SOS they play the last place schedule next year. We play the 3rd place schedule. Right now it looks like we will play Dallas in the dome, Green Bay at Lambeau again, at Jacksonville.

That’s incorrect. Draft order tiebreakers are different than divisional tiebreakers. Look at this post.

Yep. Way too many variables to try to analyze when we will literally know the final answer in an hour or so.

Look like our best bet is the Seahawks and Cardinals helping us get past the Panthers and for Vegas to win outright.

If I’m reading things correctly, we want Arizona to win today as it would boost Carolina’s SOS. As it is also a team we didn’t play against that Carolina played. We are very close in SOS with Carolina currently. How much a Arizona win changes their SOS, I don’t have the answer for, but it definitely brings us “closer” to passing Carolina in draft order

When I ran scenarios Friday the raiders game didn’t make enough difference either way.

Well they've scored 47 points on the 49ers now. I think the win is secured anyway.
