To Mr. Thumbs Down:
I understand why they included Taylor Swift. The NFL is always trying to broaden their fanbase and she's a family-friendly megaselling pop star. Still I could also understand the big thumbs-down for her since she appeals mostly to young girls. But Dave Matthews Band is one of the best bands around today and have been for quite some time. Their musicianship is off the charts and they put on an amazing show.
Plus, they are a band with nationwide appeal who just so happens to LOVE New Orleans. While I'm not a huge fan of their music (I do like some songs), I love seeing them play live because their improvisational skills are so impressive. They will put on a great show for however much time they are allotted to play.
Here, allow me to give you the thought process behind grading this with a massive thumbs down:
I don't like them.
Yeah, that's pretty much it. I don't like either of them and really won't want to watch so a negative kinda felt appropriate.
Well then the good news for you is that once their hour-long concert is over, you get 3 hours and change of the Saints whipping the Vikings from one end of the Dome to the other.
And I'm sure you can get behind that.

I just never "got" Dave Matthews, and never will.
My first thought when I saw the musical entertainment for the game was they should have gone with at least one local band. There's an awful lot of musical talent to choose from in NOLA as we all know. I understand the "marketing" thing the NFL is doing, but I'd still like to see at least one local act.
Skip the NFL pregame and go see a local act. It's what I'd do if I were in town.
