False - they are awful. If you think they are one of the best musical acts around then clearly you are not a musician yourself. I could teach a ten year old all of their songs - overrated and boring. That music has absolutely no edge - i don't understand why more aggressive isn't featured at football games - it is a brutally violent sport.

Not a big Dave fan other than spending money in my neighborhood bars while making that CD. On the other hand his drummer Carter Beauford is one of the best I have ever seen.

Im glad it's Taylor Swift and Dave Matthews since it will be going on about the time I am making my way into the Dome. Now I dont have to worry about missing out on any good bands because I was getting inside in time to see the banner drop. Excellent !!!!

It's as if you were reading my mind. Stealing the words as they were forming. While I hope we get some quality music INSIDE the Dome. The only music I really want to hear is the sweet chin music being played by the defense on BRETT FARVE!!!

Them being onstage that night coupled with the fact of them taking an extended break from touring after this year, there's gonna be DMB heads all over NOLA that night. From all over.

Hmmph, the NFL should have tried to get Lenny Kravitz. Just as much appeal with the ladies, and he rocks harder.

I didn't say that you could not deny they were talented, I said that you could not credibly deny it.

Again, I can understand why some people don't like the music -- especially if all you have listened to is the studio produced CD's. I would not listen to that. I also am not a huge fan of Matthews' singing, and I find some of it irritating, However, the intrumental portions of those 15 minute live versions can be outstanding.

If you don't like DMB then you probably have not listened to the live CD's so you have no reason to know what I am talking about.

I was really hoping for a band that would possibly bring a local band on stage, but I have no clue how either Taylor Swift of Dave Matthews could incorporate one of New Orleans' big time names such as Trombone Shorty or Galactic. With that being said...I could not have been more disappointed when the NFL choose these two boring acts. I mean they are completely boring. Pittsburgh gets the Black Eye Peas and we get country pop and weed smoking jam band....come on. This blows.

The NFL has shown some solid commitment to New Orleans. Given that, you'd think that they'd use this opportunity to showcase the local music scene. Choosing local acts would have a) boosted tourism in NO at a badly needed time, b) offered something unique to viewers instead of these vanilla NFL productions, c) been a lot of fun for the local fans, and d) would have even saved money. Choke.
