Taysom Hill is amazing: 206 offensive yards & 3 rushing TDs vs the Browns (3 Viewers)

It is great to see him finally used properly for the first time in years. Make him an important part of the offensive plan, until teams prove they can stop him.

It seems before the only team that can stop Taysom is his own team.

@ 34 years old!

I don't blame him for the interception.

That's on the coaches. We have a QB who throws a great deep pass and one that struggles on deep passes... and the coaches decided to have the one who struggles throw that pass.

I think he’s capable of making competent deep throws every now and then; my only complaint about the play is that they asked him to do it after a spell of heavy usage, including a long kick return on the previous play.

He’s a guy that needs to be at least somewhat fresh to confidently ask him to complete a pass like that. His fatigue level wasn’t optimal for that moment.

I LOL at all the people that say " Ohh but he's 34" They don't get that TH has only played in the NFL for 8 yrs and in the 1st couple yrs he was a back-up QB and ST player . So he has not had the 10+ yrs of wear and tear on him. I think he has 2 more yrs at this level left

Exactly…who knows how long this can last. We have never seen an athlete like this before. If there is any guy that can defy odds and last way longer than the norm, it’s this one. He very well could do this until he’s 40 for all we know.

Hell, what he’s doing every right now at 34 is incredible. Just an absolute specimen and a modern day champion gladiator. The football equivalent of a decathlon gold medalist.

I don’t know about blaming coaches. Just an unfortunate result. Ball hung up just a hair too long. Wasn’t a bad throw. I feel like it would’ve been ruled PI and not incidental contact if it was us on defense. The feet got a little tangled but the closing defender who caught up also leveraged off the receivers back to jump and prevented us from going up for the ball.

He played a big part of the Falcons win last week and today he beat the Browns by himself. Say what you want but he is key asset to our offense. He needs to stay healthy rest of the season now. I raise my glass to Taysom tonight.
If he doesn’t get injured in the first Atlanta game, I have no doubt that we win that one. He was gashing them on the first drive.

He appears to be the engine of this offense. I don’t even know if we win either of the last two games without him.

When Hill is healthy (full games plus the first half of the Falcons game), we average 7.4 points/quarter and 100.8 yards/quarter. Without him, we average 3.8 points/quarter and 66.7 yards/quarter. That translates to the below:

With Hill: 29.7 ppg and 403 yards/game
Without Hill: 15.3 ppg and 267 yards/game

From an exciting offense to an unwatchable one depending on whether he is on the field.

More stats for you. With this last game, Taysom passed Pierre Thomas to become the 9th all time Saints touchdown scorer with 44. This does not include his passing touchdowns. With another season or two he could equal or surpass guys like Joe Horn, Deuce and Jimmy Graham. Pretty incredible career.

Here’s something that shouldn’t go unnoticed…before the season, with the new kickoff rules in mind, myself and many people here at advocated for Taysom Hill to be used at kick returner. His skill set is absolutely perfect for it, especially with the “brick wall” effect the formation has created.

You are always a broken tackle or two and some speed away from a big return, and what better man to do that than Taysom? Heck, even with the old rules you were a broken tackle or two and some speed away, but that is a thousand percent true now.

Almost makes you wonder if Hill doing this now is a byproduct of having Rizzi at HC, who to this point may very well have been getting vetoed on the idea but now has free rein to do whatever he wants.

Man how long have we been saying this? When Taysom touches the ball, great things happen. Almost always a positive play.

We should have BEEN featuring him like this. Obviously health is something we have to keep in mind, but it’s really kind of crazy that after all this time, considering all the games he HAS been fully healthy, that for the first time we decided to say “Hey, we need to feature this guy.”

So many times Hill would come in and do great things, even lead us to a score after struggling offensively, then it’s like our coaches would forget about him the rest of the game. Finally we have a coach that isn’t letting that odd thing happen anymore.

I don’t think it’s an overstatement to say that the guy has superstar ability…feed him!
