Video Taysom Hill Raw Footage (Video From OTAs) (1 Viewer)

There's never going to be another Drew Brees but that doesn't mean that Taysom Hill cannot be a good QB for the Saints. If Hill could develop into a good game manager that could win a lot of games for the Saints with all the talent on the team.

I wouldn't go that far but yeah.

I do like seeing Brees' body language. You can tell he likes him and is willing to work with him, something Brees wouldn't have done just a year or two ago.

?? Chase is on line 2, b. :D

I'll go on record to say he'll never start a game at QB during the regular season for the Saints.

It's simply too much of a long shot.

Ever wonder why Green Bay didn't keep him? Even after looking more than decent in the preseason?

All that being said, he has piqued my curiosity to see how he does this preseason. I wish him the best.

Man you can tell he has been watching a lot of Drew. There motions and drop backs look identical

I was going to post the same thing. His back drop and Drews steps were identical. The only thing I noticed was Drew does his progression reads after he delivers while Hill did not.

He is not as smooth as Drew but that is expected.
A. Its Drew.
B. Longer legs.
He did throw low on a few but he can work on that.
He needs to work on his progressions but with Drew as a mentor he will get better.
When he starts mentally going through progressions and picturing them in his head like Drew with no one on the field he will be taking that big step.
He has a long way to go but give him a couple or 3 more years.

Things I like:
- good ball placement
- good arm strength
- good movement skills

Things I don’t like:
- Mediocre footwork
- Little touch on pass
- Throws flat footed (Drew’s two inches shorter and has the same release point)

Things I need to see in the preseason/training camp:
- Ability to direct traffic
- Ability to go through reads
- Ability to avoid turnovers
- Ability to pass under pressure

I think Hill has the tools to be a game changer. His running ability alone creates offensive opportunity.

 He and Drew look like twin brothers if one of them like hanging out in the weight room.
There are still questions, but he does seem to have Charisma, so he will most likely have excellent leadership qualities. That is something that usually separates the raw tool guys from the guys who enjoy success at the pro level. Whether or not he can play under pressure and read defenses is something we will have to see.

On a side note, the competition level on the team really went up a few notches on most positions. Well, at least on paper this appears so.

He carries himself very confidently. Its a very small collection of pads and shorts video, but I like the body language. You can see when guys are unsure or over thinking. So far so good.

(Drew’s two inches shorter and has the same release point)

Then the amount of batted passes and ability to throw through passing lanes should effectively be about the same. Drew's release point didn't seem to hinder his game, so Hill shouldn't be hindered in that department either.
