I heard TQS was signing, figured he might get some burn with a new OC.

Lol.

Yeah I agree 100 percent that’s why I asked is the top te a complete te because if he’s just a pass catcher I doubt they grab him at 9
Tyler Warren is described as a "whatever, whenever" player. I'll risk sounding like Sean, but I like the player and can see how any coach could have a vision, if not multiple visions for how he could be used. If the Saints pick him at #9 I'd be elated. When you look at player grades, he's the #4 graded player on the NFL's draft prospect list, only behind Ashton Jeanty, Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter.

Here is a link to his NFL draft profile: https://www.nfl.com/prospects/tyler-warren/32005741-5271-7637-9a66-3790edc85a60

Here is Lance Zierlein's overview:

The ultimate "whatever, whenever" player in the 2025 draft with the size, athleticism and competitive spirit to make good on his intentions. Warren plays with swagger and “best player on the field” energy. He imprints on games with alignment versatility, allowing opportunities for play-callers to stress the defense. Despite his size, he’s quick enough to beat man coverage underneath and plays with good recognition of holes in coverage. He has the ball skills and toughness to win contested catches and withstand punishing contact. He’s very capable as a lead/move blocker but will need a little improvement at sustaining blocks when blocking in-line. Warren can access all three levels of the field but is best served short and intermediate. He possesses elite football character and plays with a confidence that can be contagious. He has a chance to become one of the best tight ends in the league.

I’ll check out some footage

He also wears #44 because of John Riggins. That's huge bonus points. I want Jeanty, but if we draft Warren and he rocks #44, I'd be okay with that.

I can see Kellen moving JJ back to WR and using him as our big X receiver we’ve been lacking

Yeah, this what I've been saying for awhile.

He only moved to TE b/c we didn't have available space for a Big X at the time and had no TEs.

Now the TE availability is higher and we don't have a Big X.

Put him down at his WR weight and he would grade out as one of the best Big X WRs in the draft and on the FA market. Dude ran a 4.58 at 6'4" 235lbs, a 6.98 3-cone and a 4.27 20-yard shuttle. He also has 34" arms, a huge Wingspan at 81" and mitts for hands at 10.5".

Looking at his contract through the lens of a Big X WR and it's right where it should be.

Good for him but sometimes he is so inconsistent. I wasn't counting on him to re-sign but congrat to him.
I was a little shocked when I saw $30mil, but he's definitely one of (if not) the best TEs available in this cycle. 50 catches and 500+ yards in that dysfunctional and weak offense we had last season?

That's actually pretty impressive. In fact, our offense has been dysfunctional ever since he joined the league and converted to TE. Nobody's looked very good or consistent. Maybe he flowers if the offense improves as a whole?

It makes sense. He knows the team, and the guys on the team. The chemistry is there with Carr/Rattler. It's just one less thing we need to draft. If Warren is there at 9, it's still very possible they go for it. But it's obvious that they're filling holes to go BPA in the draft.

Fwiw, Spotrac's again nailed its valuation at just over 10mil.
Well...well...you see, sir...well...you see...that's because...you know...that...that Loomis fellow...well...he's kinda lazy...you see...so...he just kinda....well....he just looks up...you see...what Spotrac says...and well...he just...then...you see...then he just offers that.
