Should we take this kid with our first pick? I've heard he's a great TE prospect but is also very versatile. The way he's utilized in highlights reminds me of Taysom, could he take over his role? Has lined up in pretty much any position and has a history with QBing.

I personally prefer Graham/Jeanty/McMillan/or and EDGE (James Pearce Jr. ;)), but there's still the rest of the season and you never know how the draft might shake. I would personally take him over Will Campbell as I think Warren would have a greater overall impact on this team. Wanted to know what yall thought though.

No. Never spend a 1st rounder on TE. He also just benefits from the fact that the QB always throws to him mostly. He is bigger than the college athletes on the field. That don't matter in the NFL

Dear lord please when posting about a talented athlete may the comparisons to Taysom stop.

He is a unique athlete, with unique ability, size and speed and body type. There isn't anyone in the NFL with his body type that's how unique he is on that account. NFL hard to be good at one thing let alone 5 things he really good at.

The little of the college football I have seen, He is part of the Second tier players I would want. Graham and Will Johnson cb-UM are at the top and if they are there, I"m running to the podium. I lump him in with Pearce-Tenn, Scrouton , Banks UT tackle, Walker UK-DT, Grant dt Michigan, Walker,DT- Uk, Williams DT- UGA

I think using 1st round draft capital to find the next Taysom Hill is a mistake.

If he's the BPA when they pick, then OK, but I don't think TE is our biggest need by far.
I disagree tightend is a major need. Every good nfl team has a good tighend. We’ve been playing for years without a starting caliber tightend on the roster.

I def understand the caution on drafting a TE first round, and there's still players I would take before him. However, I think Brock Bowers being 4th in the league in reception yards shows there's some value in drafting a first round TE.

With the Taysom thing, I think it's pretty important to continue the conversation about someone else fulfilling his role. I get they have different playstyles but the utility player archetype and advantage still applies to both players. Considering Taysom can elevate this team from bottom of the barrel to playoff contender, another guy doing even half of what he does would be huge.

I've seen pretty little of college football too, but from watching UT, Pearce looks pretty mid in comparison from last year. Would realistically prefer Abdul Carter but still had to rep my boy.

Not our biggest need, esp considering Moreau and Johnson have been looking better since Rizzi, but we def need a big body receiver in some capacity and I don't see why it couldn't be Warren. Could also help with blocking considering how abysmal Carr is without protection.

I like Warren and his versatility, but I have some concerns that he might not be quick enough, fast enough, or run good enough routes to get sufficient separation in the NFL. He looks like kind of a plodder when running, but he does run with power after the catch which is nice along with his size.

So I think that likely makes him a 2nd or 3rd round pick so I would not want to take him in the first especially given how high the Saints are likely to pick in the first. But he would seem like a good 2nd or 3rd round pick depending on how fast he really is and if his route running gets better.

Welcome to the site.

I agree, TE is a huge need, but probably not 1st round need. We have 2 mid TEs and one is probably a better WR where he's been playing lately at his natural position.

In most mock drafts I have done, I take 2 TEs since they are a huge part of the game and we are lacking severely at the position.

This is not a crazy idea. I love Warren but his speed probably makes him more of a 2nd or 3rd rounder. If we were able to trade back and had a pick late in round 1 this would not actually be a bad choice, depending on how he goes through the Predraft process.

I would be really surprised if we don't go DE or DT in round 1. As there is only a handful of people like this walking the earth.

Ah this is a good point. Tankathon currently has him going at pick 18. I think if he falls to 2nd or 3rd round we pull the trigger no doubt.

18 seems too high to me given what I think are his athletic limitations. I mean, he's not close to being a Brock Bowers and I'm not even sure he's the best TE in this draft who I think it probably Loveland at Michigan. But I'm just some dude with a computer so I could be wrong about his value.

Thank you!

I realistically think our best option at TE is Fannin in the 3rd. I do think in general though we need to lean hard into versatility as much as possible, including spending first round capital. Elite, versatile weapons seem to be the way teams without elite QB play are able to make themselves relevant.

Hi Welcome!

Love Tyler Warren but he’s almost certainly not going to be picked in the top 10 or 11 where the saints will be picking. Maybe at 40ish but I think he’ll probably be gone before then.

I agree with you about Fannin Jr with possibly our 3rd. I also think Gunnar Helm and Mason Taylor would both be solid picks in the late 3rd/early 4th.

This draft isn’t really rich with blue collar prospects but I think it’s got a lot(TE/RB/DL/Edge/CB) at positions the Saints need. 6 picks in the top 130 should fill a bunch of holes hopefully.
