Teams calling the Saints about Lattimore; Commanders, Chiefs, Chargers, & Ravens are legitimately interested & actively bidding (1 Viewer)

I'm going to be very disappointed if we don't get a late 2nd or better. Latt is a shutdown corner which is incredibly rare in the NFL that is starving for shut down corners. On top of that, he's proven it against the best WR's with limited help in pass rush from the defensive line. Sneed left the Chiefs, and everyone said he was a great top 5 CB. But people seem to forgot he got a lot of help from Chris Jones and co applying pressure, and its currently showing (he's not shutting people down anymore). The Chiefs got a 3rd round pick for a scheme/defensive product player.

Our pass rush has been lacking for a while now (multiple years) and Latt is still shutting down his men. A true shut down corner, Champ Bailey style.

You just don't give that away.

Sad day, but I get it.

Marshon may be the smoothest man cover corner that I've ever seen play from a technique standpoint. When he's on the field, teams simply don't throw at him.

I'd truly just hope that we don't give him away for peanuts.

The more teams that are serious about bidding, the better for us. Just sit back and watch the offers rise…..

If two offers are for the same round pick…..trade to the team that we anticipate will finish worse, thus getting the higher pick in that round……(ie not the Chiefs)

Love Latt, but the reset is beginning and he's talent and cap space we simply can't afford to keep right now. Trading him now or before the league year isn't important to me, though a contender this year might offer a bit more than a team just getting it's roster in order later. A high 3rd rounder is my floor though.
He deserves better…hope he goes to a contender…Probably Chiefs.

This is going to be the height of Lattimore's value. Teams need help for a run this season and are going to part with more now than they would in the offseason. So, while I would like a high 3rd, I'll take whatever the best offer is. I can't see him being here past this year and as you said, we need the cap space to rebuild.

Trade should be a 2025, 3rd round pick and a conditional 2026 pick based on playing time and if the team signs him to ban extension before the 2026 draft. Maybe a 3rd (2025), a 4th in 2026 if he plays in over 60% of snaps in 2024/25, and upgrade to a 3rd (2026) if he signs an extension.
A top 100 pick will do. Top 75 great. Top 50 awesome. Especially when his replacements are already on the team

Assuming it will get done, I wonder if that changes anything regarding Adebo. He's our only FA of note this offseason, Taylor + McKinstry is a good start but we would need to add to that group either through draft or free agency. Our resources are limited and we have tons of other needs.

How ironic will it be if the Chiefs end up with both Mahomes and Lattimore on their roster? Remember Lattimore was the Saints consolation prize after the Chiefs leapfrogged the Saints to grab Mahomes (after Payton wouldn’t stop talking about Mahomes predraft). Prime example of good organization versus a terrible organization…..
