Not saying I'm for this quite yet since Brees might come back. But we did go 5-0 with Teddy and the playbook was being opened up more and more each week. Could Teddy have sustained his Tampa Bay type of performance the rest of the year and into the playoffs? I guess we really just don't know. Would have been interesting to see how long the streak would have lasted.
Which is why Drew rushed his return to before the bye so we wouldn't have an extra 2 weeks to dream about "6-0 Teddy". and I get it, Drew is ultra-competitive and its not easy to see your wife and kids having a laugh with some other bloke.
But the question at the feet of the Saints organization is what do you do if you have a 41-year old QB who played poorly in a wild card loss at home, and wants a brand new contract, when you have younger options like Bridgewater and Hill, who might not be available in a few months, or worse yet, could sign with one or two of your division opponents, and be confronted with the results of this choice possibly for years. I don't think the Saints view this as an easy question.
