Tell me about the last movie you saw.... (3 Viewers)

Clerks 2. I am a big fan of Kevin Smith. Some people love him and some hate him. I watched it and laughed throughout the movie. Looking forward to his next move, "Zack and Miri Make a Porno," with Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks.
I like the View Askew movies also !

Last night we watched The Shining on DVD. Classic !

I saw 'Doomsday' just the other day. It literally -

Starts off as 'Escape from New York'. The heroine even has an eye patch. At least the director doesn't hide the fact. Two of cops are named Carpenter and Miller.

It transitions into 'Aliens' for a short time.

Then becomes the 'The Road Warrior' complete with mute leather clad S&M baddies and guys with mohawks. Car chases even complete with an appearance by "the Nightrider"

It finishes off with becoming 'Escape from New York' again.

Things is even though it's one of the most derivative movies I've ever seen I didn't hate it. It's brain candy, a waste of two hours of your time but five minutes after you see it you'll have forgotten most of it.

I didn't see Aliens in it.. there are no aliens.
I'm surprised you didn't think it was more 28 Days Later because of the virus and the quarantine (28 Weeks Later).

The armored personnel carriers? Racing through the streets just like the mining colony on LV 426? The baddies even jump on the roof and punch out the windshield. The baddy falling off and getting crushed by the APC didn't look familiar? And finally the APC crash sequence is a frame for frame ripoff of the scene in 'Aliens' in which Ripley crashes her APC. The APC's look so much alike I kept waiting for them to show Ripley, Gorman, Burke, Hicks and Newt exiting as they climbed in.

I did see a little '28 Days Later' but far more of the others I mentioned - 'Escape from New York', 'The Road Warrior' with a little 'Mad Max' mixed in, and the 'Aliens' sequence. Thinking about it, it was kind of fun trying to remember where each scene of this movie was lifted from.......

That's also my most recent movie - I finally got around to watching it Tuesday night.

I like the Coen brothers and I thought the casting was particularly good.

I don't think it was as complete as some of their other films, but it sure was intense. It's a helluva ride. When the credits popped up at the end, I was just like " . . . holy ****."

yeah the ending is a little weird, kinda leaves you hanging, but i think thats what i like about it.

I don't remember Aliens all that much except for the "inside the space ship chasing multi-mouth around" stuff.

But the whole virus thing was a huge point of the movie... Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later, etc... I thought that was the biggest thing to compare against other movies.

Now I'm watching The Car at work.
I love this movie.
And it taught me that in Santa Ynez, police cars are made out of gasoline soaked dynamite.

hahahahaha
And the Indian stereotypes are cracking me up.
"You're in heap big trouble"
"I have to go to teepee and check on the old lady" (his trailer)
and
"Sit.... um.....down."

Watched what happens in Vegas last night with the girlfriend. It was ok. Just another romantic comedy.

Just got back from House Bunny.

My wife and I really enjoy Anna Faris in movies - and she didn't disappoint in this one. She was entertaining.

The rest of the movie however....

We'll be going to me Mamma Mia today as a birthday request for my daughter who I introduced to the time honored classic movie Ghostbusters last night.

"Back off, man. I'm a scientist."

Watched Gangs of New York last night. I liked it, wife hated it and has revoked my movie picking privileges for a while. But that's ok cause I still have two more of my picks waiting to be seen.
