Pegula wins in 2 sets (6-2 and 6-4). She's going to the Semi-Finals!ESPN is featuring the I. Swiatek vs J. Pegula match. (Pegula is up 4 games to 0 in the 1st set)
I'd really like to see Jessica Pegula win this and then maybe be the ultimate US Open champion........because....
Jessica Pegula has never been a champion in any of the 4 Grand Slams.
She's due!
Btw since this is an all-around tennis thread, if anyone’s interested- ive been taking advantage of some awesome tennis facilities here in Thailand.. here is one place ive played a couple of times:
.
.
.
Also the hotel where i stayed when i first arrived a couple months ago has a really nice rooftop court, I haven’t played there yet but plan to at some point
.
.
.
If any of you ever finds urself in or around Bangkok, holler at ya boy and we will hit around !
I have known for at least a year that Jessica's dad is the Buffalo Bills owner. Anyway, she is her own person who now has a chance to follow in Coco's footsteps. Sabalenka is back in the finals against another American. Go Jessica!Pegula...battled back to win 2nd set after dropping 1st set. Gritty player and found her game. Now on to deciding 3rd.
And was it widely known she is daughter of Buffalo Bills owner??

Don't understand how there are no indoor facilities like that down here.
That's awesome!!
Well, it is awesome but not quite as awesome as that.. the pics of the place i played at with the covered courts is a new, very nice facility on the outskirts of Bangkok with 6 covered courts.. but, importantly- they are not air conditioned.. and the weather here in BKK is NOLA-level heat & humidity, if not worse.. apparently there is only one place here with air conditioned courts and it’s almost impossible to get a court there.. and tbh , the covered courts without AC are hot as balls so it doesn’t make a ton of sense to me to have them covered.. still , it’s a really nice place .
Played at a different place this morning (it’s about 12:30pm on Friday as i type this)- that i actually like better b/c it has outdoor courts, and if im gonna sweat my tail off, id rather actually be getting some sun as well, if that makes any sense …. As far as NOLA, the last time i checked the only air conditioned courts in the area were at the Hilton Riverside & Towers at the foot of Canal St.. i strongly considered joining circa 5 yrs ago but it was super expensive to join that gym (to get access to the courts) and I wasn’t playing enough tennis to make it worthwhile.. there may be some air conditioned courts on the Northshore though, im not familiar with the tennis scene there .
