Micky Loomis is a good man and a great accountant. But he is not a football man and has no vision for the future. He owes his loyalty to Mrs Benson and the fans, not his Coaches and Staff. News is that he is considering bringing back Dennis Allen and hiring ex-Coach Jon Gruden who is under suspension by the NFL for Racism. What positive effect could that bring to a team that has already lost respect for its Head Coach because of how he mistreated a Black Quarterback whom they ( the players) respected and believed in? Does anyone care how this could affect the culture of the team, the loyalty of the fans of color, and the signing of highly talented- high character black players in Free Agency?

It’s time to move on. We cannot afford to keep stumbling, we must keep pace with the rest of the league. WAKE UP! It’s time to bring in a real Fire Fighter and Builder, to put out the fire and repair the damages

It’s time to hire the best GM available and give him all the Keys.

We are at a crossroads, if the wrong decision is made it may be decades before we win another Championship, or maybe Never.

Unfortunately, the problem starts with Ms. Benson. She’s not Tom Benson and Mickey and Lauscha hold the keys to the kingdom. I’m starting to guess that is the main reason that Payton was looking to get out of Nola after Tom passed away.

ML is one of the top GM's in the league. One thing we have been known for under his tenure is stability. I was not.. and am not... a fan of DA. That being said teams that fire coaches every other year are losing franchises (See Carolina and Vegas)... I am on board giving DA one more year to see how this plays out but getting rid of ML would be a massive mistake.

I really think you need a few more failed coaching hires before you can get this dire.
How much time do you really need? Everyone knows DA isn't the answer. Are you willing to give Loomis another hire? According to that timeline, you should be looking at another 6 to 12 years before admitting that it's time to take the GM keys away.

Its easy to have stability when sean Payton was the coach and the real GM.

I appreciate the passion. Wish the team and front office matched in suit

I think it’s time for DA to go too.
But to go and declare no championships for decades?
Every franchise goes through a bad hire.

From looking at your age, I see you're not one of the younger posters that's not familiar with Loomis' work. I'm also going to assume that you've been a fan since day 1.

With that being said, are you comparing the Loomis era of work to the 60's and 70's Saints? If so, I can understand your rationale.

I think everyone can agree that this team has enough to win and get into the playoffs. We don't need to "clean house". We just need a few pieces adjusted, and that's starting with the GM.

But you suggested giving him 2-3 bad hires. With 3 years each, that puts us into the 2030's.
That’s not what I said.
I said the original post is making it seem like the team is one some historic drought.

by what measure is mickey loomis one of the top GMs in the league? seriously. what big brain moves has he made in the last decade? the only thing he's known for is his cap management which hasn't made the team better.

We had an above .500 season and the building is on fire?

You are the hyperbole grand master supreme!

we played the easiest schedule in the NFL and mostly again backup QBs. the irony is that we beat maybe one team that was above .500 the entire season. this season was a total disappointment.
