That's easy, we tried to. He didn't like the #s in his offer from the Saints. He decided he would trust his talent and play out this year, and sign in 2022 when the new TV money is in. You guys just don't know how to grade out safeties, but act like you do.If Williams is so great why didn't we sign him to a long term contract?
Williams is good but not elite. There are 10 better FSs in the league. He has ball skills but he is a sub par tackler. The position can definitely be up graded in the off seasonThat's easy, we tried to. He didn't like the #s in his offer from the Saints. Name them!!!!!!!!There are 10 better FSs in the league.
Simmons, Denver, obviouslyName them!!!!!!!!
Simmons, Denver, obviously
Savage, Green Bay
Fitzpatrick, Pittsburgh
Jones III, Cincinnati
Johnson III, Cleveland
Hyde, Buffalo
Blackmon, Indianapolis
Smith, Minnesota
Mathieu, Kansas City
Harris, Philadelphia
The only one on this list I wouldn't take over Williams is Smith but only because of his age
He also came from the other half of the field. Watch the replay, Jenkins was covering that half of the field but he moves toward the line of scrimmage, which is what Geno sees and why he makes the one-on-one throw. A lesser safety would not have been in a position to attempt the tackle, he just missed his angle hurrying to the spot. MW is a great player for us and we're lucky to have him. Hopefully we get him under contract next year.He dove at Metcalf's legs when all he needed to do was push him out of bounds.
MW has consistently done this - lowers his head and WHIFFS!He dove at Metcalf's legs when all he needed to do was push him out of bounds.
I'm not going to do research on this, but does not sound right!4. Marcus Williams, New Orleans Saints
It would have been easy for Marcus Williams to allow his career to be haunted by the Minneapolis Miracle, when he showed up with the worst single play of his career at the biggest moment. But both before and after that play, Williams has been one of the best in the NFL. The now fifth-year safety missed just two tackles from 67 attempts in 2020.
