His ceiling is more of a lite Russ Wilson. The main knock against Willis is the OC would have to develop a system around him just like the Ravens did with Lamar. He’s not going to come in and fit a West coast timing style offense like Pete runs. Sean didn’t even try changing up the offense for Taysom which is one reason he wasn’t that good. IMO Willis’s ceiling will be Micheal Vick and floor Akili Smith.
I watched every snap.Have you watched any of his games. I watched 2 and all I saw him throw is either quick slants or 50/50 bombs along the sidelines. No reading defenses, no going through progressions, it was either throw quick or run and that was at Liberty against other menial teams. He’s a physically gifted player just like Vick. Very fast, quick, and a very strong arm. But his accuracy isn’t very good and if he can’t read College defenses he sure won’t be able to read NFL defenses.
I think there is always atleast one or two good QBs in a draft. It's super rare for there to be a complete dud. You just got find him and develop them.If they think they can develop Winston after 7 years in the NFL, they think they can develop Willis. Willis looks to be a really good prospect for a team that just signed a stop gap QB. I know the class next year will be better than this one, but I just like this kid.
Lack of interest by the Saints?
