The Playmaker Michael Irvin Pulled from All Super Bowl Coverage/NFL Network (09/14 EDIT: Irvin settles his defamation suit w/hotel, returns to NFLN) (1 Viewer)

There is witnesses and it was complete nonsense and false. I wonder how many of the self righteous among us will admit they ripped him based upon rumors. If this was Drew Brees would the same thing have happened? The other accusations people love to bring up were also proven false and ended with Irvin winning lawsuits.
Oh, I've been ripping him for years because of what we already knew about him. In a different NFL era? I don't think he'd have the media career he has now.

Irvin had a lot of "instances" during his playing days because he was a coke addict.
Unfortunately at that time coke addiction was prevalent in society and sports. There was one very prominent baseball player who always slid headfirst to avoid breaking the vials of cocaine in his back pocket.

DALLAS (AP) — Two men who were in a Phoenix hotel lobby the night that Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin was accused of misconduct with a female employee said Wednesday they didn’t see him do anything wrong and that his brief interaction with the woman appeared friendly.

Phil Watkins of Australia and Bryn Davis of Philadelphia appeared at a news conference by video link with Irvin and his attorney.

Irvin has filed a $100 million defamation lawsuit against a “Jane Doe” and Marriott International Inc., alleging that a false misconduct claim on Feb. 5 caused him to be kicked out of the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel hotel and removed from the NFL Network’s Super Bowl week coverage.

Watkins said he saw “nothing at all” that could be considered inappropriate, and that Irvin and the woman shook hands and laughed.

“There was nothing untoward out of the interaction,” and Irvin soon left for the elevator as the woman went back toward the bar, Watkins said.

Irvin has insisted he did nothing wrong during the encounter with the woman and went to his room alone. He has said there was no inappropriate physical contact……..

It was a complete fabrication:

It’s sad that many, including NFL Network, automatically assumed he was guilty in court of public opinion based on his past but there was never evidence to support the accusations. Marriott was reluctant to release the video footage to the judge and witnesses testimony supported Irvin’s account of what happened. He deserves every penny in his lawsuit against the Marriott and accuser
