I believe lava runs at about 2400 degrees, pretty warm.

What I was surprised by and looking for was the snow melting just ahead of the lava. I thought something that hot would be melting snow ahead of it.

Since my daughter has played softball for about 10 years now me and her watch a lot of college softball. Some of those girls can play some ball. I actually way prefer it ove MLB. There's some errors which keeps the games interesting unlike MLB....those guys are so good and rarely make mistakes which bores me.

I never was much for major league baseball (probably because I've never had a dog in the fight), but due to being an LSU fan I thoroughly enjoy following both their softball & baseball programs. Yes, at the college level these games are filled with truly talented athletes who make the games very exciting to watch. Just this weekend the softball team rallied back to earn two wins in 'walk off' fashion against some quality opponents. And yesterday against Central Arkansas our CF Paxton Kling managed to make a spectacular flyball out on a diving catch that you may not see a dozen times in your entire life!

There is nothing 'girly' about the way these young ladies perform on the field. Though they may get a little 'cutesy' in the dugout, they are all business when they are at work. But I'm like you in that I find the majors to be a little boring to watch. Defense always excels and offensive rallies are hard to come by in what are usually very low scoring games. I'll stick with the college games.
