Long lasting impact from this.

We received the death penalty this season(and yes, this season is officially over) and the next few seasons will feel the impact as well. It also disrupts the future of the people suspended with our team and destroys this years draft. NO SP or Loomis in the draft room..

There is not much more to write about this. The competitive balance has been utterly annihiliated on our team. I'm just thankful they didn't take away our number 1 pick next year because it could end up being a really high one. I'm sure Failclown fans are dancing in the streets. I question the direction of where we go from here with so much going against us now. Wow, I just can't believe it..I can't believe it.
 
in fact, i will go as far as to say that this will fuel the saints to commit football *** rapings for the entre season :17:

It's basically all concentrated on next season. I don't think Payton or Brees leaves, so we'll be okay.

Seriously, we will be alright. Maybe not the same, but Carmichael and Spagnuolo can handle the team for one year. Assuming Brees is signed, we will be fine. And, while losing two second round picks sucks, it's not that terrible. It won't destroy us for years to come as long as we hit on some late rounders or RFA's and we always his on some late rounders and RFAs.

BTW, Sack, Loomis will be able to run the draft and free agency. He is suspended for the first 8 regular season games, not on April 1 like Payton.
 
is there any course of action that Payton can take to appeal??

I'm a little calmer now...but my main concern is what will happen next year to us. This year is finished..ok, I can handle that. It perhaps might not be if the players take it personally and start a crusade to punch people in the face this year. I'm not buying that though. They just hammered us too hard. Even Rocky couldn't come back in a fight if you cut off his arms, and that's what the leagues has done to us.

However, it's the uncertainty regarding SP's future with the team and the mess they have made out of this years draft(who will be in our war room?) along with Loomis being gone for so long.. And I don't like seeing Payton away from us for a year. I don't like that at all. I don't like the attention on our team in a negative light, I'm not sure how that will effective us. I'm sure it could effective us in more negative ways imaginable.(officiating, free agency, I'm sure other stuff as well)

We had a really special thing going. Now there is major uncertainty and this is an unprecedented event so it just adds to my anxiety regarding the entire situation.
