Have you seen our defense against Cleveland and Tampa? Those offenses surely are easier to stop than the Lions. Not to mention what the Falcons could do with 3 minutes.

I'm actually with you in general, but I wouldn't trust this defense to stop a toddler from getting out of a crib.

yes ive seen every second of every game. the defense was getting decent pressure all game and besides a couple bad penalties and a ridiculous interception attempt.. the defense played well enough to run the ball.

payton wants to get ****** that people question his play calling after the game. screw that. run it you have the lead.

No they didn't. Corey White gave of 8 passes on 9 targets and a perfect QB rating. They were playing well against the run, but they were getting exposed in the 4th Quarter against the pass and got lucky on some other plays. The thing that saved them for most of the game is the Lions refused to open up their offense.

If you are going to put the game on anyone's shoulders, you put it on the shoulders of your $20 million per year QB. This team goes as far as Drew Brees can take them. The defense playing well is a nice addition and could have taken them over the top, but they are built to play with a big lead where they can use exotic blitzes and just pass rush. Brees has not given them that opportunity this year. And, until he starts to play the way he is capable of playing, they will continue to struggle.

But, it's all gravy to me. We got our Super Bowl. Years of loyalty was rewarded. I find myself not caring all that much anymore.

play calling?... lets run a screen in the two minute drill hasn't worked yet.. has to work now, right? ... right?.. wait... am i right,? surely, i am right. Riiiiiiiiiight.

Well, I did think the play calling in the two minute drill had some major issues, but in the end, Brees throwing to a Lion was the biggest issue.

To be fair, even Barber thought it was a good call, and had a chance to catch them off guard.

Yeah, but he was just wrong. We always run that screen in the two minute drill. Nobody could have been caught off guard who had studied our tendencies. Barber clearly did not. And, I'm fine with that call when there is time. It slows down the pass rush and you occasionally bust one, but we had no time to run it when we did and he could not get out of bounds which really ran the clock and may have made Brees force a ball that he should not have thrown.
