There's no easy way out of this (4 Viewers)

Whatever they are doing, it is 100% working in this new age of football. Just someone who has had a bird’s eye view of that operation, who can mix the old with the new.

There is a series on YouTube on them. Started with a change in ownership and the hiring of Speilman to be in charge of building the right culture.

So the roadmap would be Gayle sells the team to someone who cares. Hiring someone to be in charge of building a culture. Hiring a GM and staff to build that culture.

So not a lot of Lions going to happen here, unless we're entering a string of 50 disappointing seasons like the Lions had before. Mickey and Gayle going nowhere.

Man some people really lose their minds when their team isn’t winning. Geesh.

This narrative of Mrs. Benson not caring is just completely absurd and based on nothing but feelings and emotion and a strange need to attack the unknown/different.

Everything is going wrong, so it’s gotta be one of the only women in charge in a fraternity of mostly men, right? Ridiculous.

Fair enough....I'll say this, the best way to get back on track (and it's not going to be easy) is to get the right coach and hit on the next 2 drafts....it will be an uphill climb especially because I have zero faith in Loomis's ability to find that right coach.....but we will see....
I think you can say that about every under 500 team in the league. Its kind of obvious

No it doesn't. When Payton left we had at best a low level staring QB in Winston with nobody behind him, no WRs, no QB to dream on, a cap in trouble, and mid-level draft picks. We are now 2 years from fixing the cap rather than 5 years from fixing the cap. We have two very good, if not great WRs, a couple QBs to dream on in Rattler and Haener, a solid QB in Carr, what appear to be two bookend Tackles that we can build around, and what is about to be a high round draft pick. Things are certainly no worse and may be better than they were when Payton left.

If for no other reason, the next head coach won't be directly following a legend with the GM saying that this is just a continuation of what Payton did.
I agree with everything other than Winston, there were better cheap QB's out there, Mayfield. Darnold

I wish I had your confidence in Loomis but all I can remember is that clown show end of season PC he did.....good they didn't trade down because I think we got a LT starter for years to come at one of the premium need positions....
I still have confidence in Fuaga but not as much as the beginning of the season. He has dropped off a good bit

I do think the first round of the draft worked out right for the team and frankly, I think if Bowers had fallen it would have been a mistake not to take him.

Anyway, I guess I just see Loomis as a guy that isn't great when he is in the spotlight. Part of that is that he spent so many years with Payton and Brees as the face of the organization. But DA is never going to be that guy so Loomis has had to step into the role and he is not good at it. Still, I think he's a patient calming hand which has it's disadvantages since he tends to be slow to get rid of underperforming coaches, but it also means that people want to work for him because he doesn't just fire everyone the moment things go wrong.

Plus, numbers guy or not, he's been in an NFL front office or an NFL GM for almost 40 years so he probably knows more about football than most of us think he does. I mean he's had access to coaches, scouts, and players that most of us football obsessed fans only dream of. Some of that information has to have rubbed off on him. He doesn't always make the right decision, but he is willing to change even if it's not as quickly as we would like.

Whether that's because he is hard headed or patient may be a matter of semantics and if what he does turns out to be right in the end. When he gave Payton more time after 3 straight 7-9 seasons he was patient but giving Allen this much time seems to be hard headed. ;)
Yes, I think a better HC is something we could use, but ignoring the fact that we were a dominate 2-0 to start the season when healthy is unwise. And we got totally decimated by injuries over the next 3 games. And we came 2 plays under 2 min away from being 4-0
I just SMH how people on here have either downplayed or just out and out ignored that fact. Injuries in our case are not an excuse, they are a FACT

Regarding your last paragraph, big difference, CSP already had skins on the wall (NFC championship, SB win, multiple playoffs).....DA in 6 seasons still hasn't been able to take a team to the playoffs....DA hasn't earned anyone's patience at this point.....

Other than that, I think Loomis's job until recently has been almost purely financial, but like you I can only speculate.....I just hope by the beginning of next season we have a new coach and better direction going forward....
I'm not comparing SP to DA but SP had EPIC fails after the SB, 2011 being one of them. We had THE best team in the league and lost to a under 500 Seahawks
And using DA's yrs with the Raiders is like using Belichick's yrs in Cleve, even worse because the Raiders have been a dumpster fire organization for decades

i think it's reasonable for a rookie Fuaga to drop off, as the whole team has with this injury bullshirt

Yes , you're right GB does care, but I really do think she may be the weakest owner in the NFL. She is not pro-active, Tom would have demanded better. She just seems content to do her charity work and lil appearances rather than take the GM's of both the Saints and Pels to task. I don't see Gayle as having any fire, plus she was not a successful business woman as well

Yes a slight dropoff, but he's ranked 64 out of 67 OTs where he was top 5 after the 1st 2 wks. That;s too far. I do think he will rebound, but that far a drop is disappointing

Guess it depends on what caring means.

I would define caring as taking an actual interest in the day to day management of the team not just showing up to clap on Sunday.

She does. Like virtually all owners not named Jerry Jones or Woody Johnson, she doesn’t do it through the press.

Just because that’s your only exposure to her and she’s not yapping to the media about who she’s going to fire, who needs to be cut, who needs to play or coach better, issuing ultimatums, etc. like that clown in Texas that hasn’t won much of anything in almost 30 years doesn’t mean that she doesn’t care or doesn’t do anything.

She has put people in charge of these matters, is involved more than most realize, and people are acting like the team is on some sort of run of 3-13 seasons.

I don’t recall Mr. Benson doing a whole lot of yapping when we were going 7-9/8-8 every year under Haslett either.

People need to get a grip and stop acting like being average is some egregious thing or like our ownership is standing by idly watching a completely trash organization or like we are the only team whose owner has hired a Team President to run their business while they themselves operate in the background.

She isn’t doing much differently than most owners and is only being targeted because she’s a woman and she’s a nice person in public and isn’t throwing media tantrums like Jerry Jones, David Tepper, etc.

Owners own, managers manage.

We wouldn’t need a new owner. It can start right beneath her
