NFL Draft This is not a historically good draft. Don’t be upset if we draft Jaxson Dart high. (2 Viewers)

Taking Dart at 9 would be a reach. Maybe not a waste of the pick but I think you could trade back Ang get another pick and Dart. So it would actually be a waste of a pick.
We need to stop wasting picks, by trading up or reaching for somone too high. We need to start taking BPA and getting great value for our picks.
If you like him enough to get him in the mid-1st, I don’t think you get cute and trade back. There have been many people saying he may be the 2nd QB off the board…and if that’s true you can miss him getting cute. I personally like Dart more than Sanders

The same people hyping Dart as a first round pick hyped Ridder, Corral, Willis and Howell as first round picks a few years ago. Dart's in the same tier of QB. For every Hurts there's ten guys that don't work out.

Taking one of them in the 2nd or 3rd round is forgivable. Taking one at 9 and they don't pan out will get a GM and coach fired because you're forced to stick with them due to their draft status. Only team that got away with it was the Cardinals and that's only because they had the first pick the following year.

I like Dart. It wasn't till super early January (1st week) I considered him a 1st round pick and thought he may sneak into the top 10.

If Jeanty is on the table, I still think he's our play first and foremost. Likely requiring a trade up. But if a deal doesn't get worked and sit @9 and Dart is still there, I agree, I think its a real possibility.

The only reason I give pause to any QB in this draft is because even Ward, the presumed 1st overall pick, and supposed "best" QB in this draft likely wouldn't be QB3 off the board is most other drafts. Throw in Nuss's son, Garrett, being in next years draft and we likely have Carr for 2 years, It becomes a real play. Though, planning for such a thing feels reckless since there's no guarantee the saints will be able to get him no matter how bad they may want him (or, may not want him).

But Dart is a leader first and foremost. Second, he has no problems wanting the game put on his arm and legs. He's done it many times. He's also a smart player. Kentucky was a monster of a defense this year, and when he played against them he kept his head on a swivel and made smart plays very often. He didn't put up monster numbers (pretty much no QB does). But if you want to watch a game where your offense is getting dominated and the QB has to play very smart under constant pressure, that's the game to watch.

I don’t know if it would be for Jeanty, but I could certainly see us dangling one of our two 3rds to move up the board a bit for someone.

Imagine that, I got excoriated a couple months ago when I suggested that we draft Dart at 9. QBs rise in every draft because they are the most important player on the team. Dart is a good QB, I think he’s better than Sanders.
Lol better than Sanders what you drinking or smoking when you watching those two play football

I wouldn't like taking Dart at #9 because I think that in this draft there are probably about 9 guys worth a top 10 pick and who have first round grades, and Dart isn't one of them.

But, as much as I think he's really more of a 3rd or 4th round prospect, I'd be fine with taking Dart at 40 if Moore thinks he can develop him. I'd even be okay with taking him at #9 if Moore really loves him. Sometimes you have to take a QB a round or so early to be sure of getting them.

That being said, Underhill has said he would be shocked if the Saints took Dart at #9 and that they have both Ward (who they love) and Sanders rated ahead of him. And, they have Sanders rated as a 2nd round pick. So, I too would be shocked if they took Dart at #9.

I'll also say that if we are going to take a shot at developing an athletic freak who needs a lot of work on fitting into an NFL passing game, I'd be just as okay with taking Milroe at #40 if Moore thinks he can develop him. One thing I'm certain of with Milroe is that he has the character and work ethic to develop as an NFL QB. I don't know if that's the case with Dart.
Why not McCord?

Nah, i think you're downgrading Rattler. Rattler has the most important attribute, and thats mental toughness. He can bounce from play to play robotically like Drew Brees. (not effected one play to the next) He's not perfect. But he's as good as good as the other QB's in the draft. And we know for 100% sure he wont bust like Haener under the lights.
Haener never really got a real chance.

Out of those three Dart is likely gonna be the best leader. What I don't like is he is modeling his game after Hurts. It should be after Allen. He's not going to have the most explosiveness, though. I much prefer QBs that are leaders and who can handle pressure, not so much explosiveness.

What makes you think Dart is going to be the best leader of those 3? I've seen nothing from Dart to indicate that he is a better leader than Sanders or especially Milroe. Milroe's family background makes him a natural leader and Sanders grew up understanding the NFL.

And Dart doesn't have the arm to model him game after Allen.
