NFL Draft This is the deepest edge class I’ve ever seen. (3 Viewers)

I just went through this edge class again, it’s stacked. At least 10-12 guys that if we landed 1 of them I’d be happy.

I take it back, I just counted about 15 edge players who are worthy of going top 100. Crazy

His arm length looks fine to me if he can do that against a potential first round pick in Conerly.
For the record, Conerly is trying a new position there as RT. I think he's always been a LT.

It's not, but this happens every year around this time. The draft becomes incredibly deep at the positions people think the Saints need. During the draft when the Saints pass on "I had him ranked super high!" player at [insert position], the same people will freak out. It's highly entertaining to watch though.

To be fair, the Saints need every position this year so there are bound to be some positions that we need that will be deep.

We might have to agree to disagree. Heres a quick list of guys that can go anywhere and be good I believe. Of course QB play will depict success. (stars are IMO the best ones)

* Tetairoa McMillan
Luther Burden
* Emeka Egbuka
Tre Harris
* Xavier Restrepo
Isaiah Bond
* Jayden Higgins
* Jalen Royals
Kyren Lacy
Jack Bech
Andrew Armstrong (I have him tagged as my sleeper WR)
I agree , I think you can add Elic Ayomanor to that . And the guy I think is the most intriguing WR in the draft Savion Williams. 6'5" 225 and has been used in the wildcat a bunch

I usually agree with you on a lot of things but gotta disagree on this one. I don't think we have a NEED at every position. He have some needs and a few wants and an that would be a luxury pick or 2
I think our needs are a big contested pass catcher , either a X WR or @ TE
A run stuffing DT that can move the pocket to go next to Bresse
A good edge rusher , or even 2
An upgrade @ RG

The wants to me are @ S, LB , RB and depth on the OL
I don't know how many of those needs we can fill in FA , I would hope we can replace Shepard or Saunders or both because they have been pretty awful. Also maybe an RG upgrade in FA.

Everything depends on what kind of system Moore is going to run and who the DC is going to be

I think people that are thinking that he's going to strictly be trying to model the Eagles blueprint are missing the mark. He had more offensive success in Dallas with Dak, Elliot, Lamb, Gallup and Pollard. And we have some of those type guys already on the team.

It happens every year with teams reaching for a QB, but it doesn't work out as much as they would like.
From recent memory, Trey Lance, Brandon Weeden, Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, Zack Wilson, EJ Manuel, Daniel Jones, Paxton Lynch, Christian Ponder, Dwayne Haskins (RIP), Jake Locker, Johnny Manziel, Mac Jones, Blake Bortles, Justin Fields, Carson Wentz, Josh Rosen, Ryan Tannehill, Blaine Gabbert.

Compared to some other teams that didn't trade up for QB's that have been a success from recent memory, Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, Brock Purdy, Lamar (late first round pick), Drew Brees (2nd round pick), and of course Tom Brady

All I'm saying is that just because you trade up, doesn't mean it's going to work out.
Couldn’t agree more. I just also believe you never win if you don’t play, so we should be scratching those QB lotto tickets every season imo. Not saying we should move up for em each season tho.

I disagree. You can't make it happen. Move up if there's a QB worth moving up for to get. If not, moving up just to take a QB when you know the QB class is bad is just a bad draft strategy. It's no different than what the Saints have been doing at DE. It's what Cleveland has been doing at QB for a generation. No, you can't waste draft resources drafting a QB high hoping one eventually surprises.

The Saints have to do it like Kansas City did. When you see a guy you think is good go get him by all means, but otherwise draft bpa. Impatience only makes the situation worse.
