Well that says more about you than I wanted to know. Lol Jk.So he's the right head coach for the Saints because of his fashion sense? Uniform colors don't win games.
And it was creamsicle, not pink. And, frankly, I've always kind of liked the old Tampa creamsicle uniforms.
The uniform change came during Dungy's second year (1997). Nothing to do with Gruden -- when the Glazer's bought the team in '95 they announced they were getting rid of the creamsicle uniforms.Did you see Tampa when he got there? Remember their colors, (what was it pink, or light orange) then remember the new uniforms and the pirate ship. That’s all Gruden
I agree with the racist interpretation. His comments were definitely uncalled for and childish, but to say they were racist is subjective. I didn’t see that he called him the N word in the emails. Maybe he did and I missed it because that would clearly be racist.I like Gruden. I asked the question yesterday, in another thread, what was his nfl banishment all about…. I wasn’t paying too much attention to it when it was happening. The more I research it, the more I find flaws like the bounty gate evidence. I am not a fan of cancel culture, especially based to specific interpretations of what was said and in what context. In my opinion, there is Lots of grey area with what he said racially. Now, with that said, I think that any team that hires Gruden will go on the NFL crap list and we all know how that feels. No matter what you do, there will be a moment where the NFL powers at hand will remind you what it is like to defy them.
I guess you haven’t seen the cringy after a win DA victory speeches. So if the guy brings it in practice (JG) imagine after a win. Whatever this all moot, the woke culture will win. The bottom line is this, we need a coach that can motivate a team full of scrubs. Show me a coach playing now, besides the great ones I mentioned, that can do the same. Remember we have NO cap, no flexibility. So we have to play the hand we have now. Could the coach of Minn, GB, SF, Rams, Philly, band together a team of scrubs and win? Or do they require a great team and a full cap?You talking about PRACTICE????
Any coach that isn’t fighting Goodell. But yet you can’t show me. Word salad.
I stand corrected. Too bad he couldn’t win a Super Bowl with the team he created. It took JG. He won with Payton Manning at Indy. However , I think TD is a great coach too. He banded together scrubs and created great teams. The uniform change came during Dungy's second year (1997). Nothing to do with Gruden -- when the Glazer's bought the team in '95 they announced they were getting rid of the creamsicle uniforms.
DA sucks. Never wanted him after his first game against Atl. Just because he was a meek, bad coach doesn’t mean only Jon Gruden can fix it.I guess you haven’t seen the cringy after a win DA victory speeches. So if the guy brings it in practice (JG) imagine after a win. Whatever this all moot, the woke culture will win. The bottom line is this, we need a coach that can motivate a team full of scrubs. Show you what? That there are more than two NFL HC applicants that are “leaders of men”?
Bruh, if you think that old Jon Gruden Is one of only two guys that could fit the leader category then I assume you’re beyond being shown anything.
I can point you back to all the stats and facts in this thread showing that Gruden hasn’t been a “good “ coach since the early 2000s. I can also point to all the successful HC hires in the league the past few years that are nothing like him.
Gruden has the mojo on some of you dudes though. It’s a trip.
Omg I need ranch dressing to read that.Any coach that isn’t fighting Goodell.
Any coach running a relevant offense that scores points instead of Gruden’s west coast short passing game offense that does not score points.
Any coach that can actually develop a QB and win, something Gruden has never done. Gruden will dig in on Carr, rather than try to find the Saints future QB.
Any coach that will focus on building a legacy instead of preening for the cameras.
Gruden is Ditka 2.0. I would take Johnson, Glenn, Brady, and Glenn over Gruden because in 2025 they are all more likely to succeed than a guy that has not been a winner since the 2000s.
You can’t prove Gruden is at this moment a better candidate than any of those guys. You believe, but can prove it.
The only reason Loomis would hire him is because they are from the same generation and he won’t have to do a real rebuild with Chucky who would keep shooting for mediocrity, just like he did in Tampa and the second time with the Raiders.
Possible, I can see that angle. But wouldn’t you agree that we’re a team full of scrubs, without any $ to get much better? We require a Jim Mora like approach to rebuilding. Discipline and accountability with the idea of getting more from less.I think a lot of this is an overreaction to DA sucking. He was mild and not a real leader so people are insisting on the extreme opposite with a yeller and/or hype man like Gruden and/or Rizzi.
Some of you guys are really over thinking this... We are stuck with Carr for one more year... Neither Carr nor Gruden are the future of the team... If we are unable to land a young offensive HC that will blow this up after next season...
The the next best thing is to hire the only HC that has ever made Carr look like a top 5 QB... so that we can get all we can out of him before we dump him after next year.
I'm okay with Gruden as a "bridge HC" for a year or 2 so we can get the most out of Carr... And so we have a real football man in the building to get this tear down and rebuild started... and potentially get us to the next HC if we can't land the one we need this offseason.
