Because it don't much matter what I want... Carr is here for another year... I still think Spencer can be the future at QB.... But I can also acknowledge that the future.... is not next year. I'd rather get the most out of Carr for the year we are stuck with him, and have a guy that can transition us away from him in house... Than to have neither. Both guys (Carr and Gruden) are bridges... Not long term solutions.... And if I am wrong about that.... Super!
He used his work email to share profane, bigoted statements about important people in the NFL. That is dumb as fxck. Sorry, not sorry.Info was stolen from him.
My point is that with Gruden, Carr could end up being here for more that one year and maybe more than two years. You know if Gruden told Mickey to extend Carr he would do it.
Love the comparison I like both of those places for different reasons. But it shows that you can win multiple ways. But Sean came back with his 2017-2020 run, something Gruden never did, ie reinvent core elements to adapt.
Throw in what Sean is doing in Denver, while developing a rookie franchise QB and it’s clear that Gruden couldn’t hold Payton’s jock, much less try to wear it.
Gruden is to Payton as Hooters is to Brennans.
I agree with the using his work email part. He was clearly going against two people that he has a major problem with. Not groups of people or races. But he shouldn’t have. And he was kicked for doing it. And he apologized and went to court over it for 2 years. Should he be put in front a firing squad now? Or does he deserve a second look? Who of us hasn’t said something they wish they could take back? I said stuff in this thread I wish I didn’t say.,,He used his work email to share profane, bigoted statements about important people in the NFL. That is dumb as fxck. Sorry, not sorry.
You don't know that... And if he is... Like I said, that means he's been great... and that's awesome news!
I think Spencer can be the future at QB... But I am not married to him or anything... I want what I think will win, now or going forward... but if we are winning now... who cares?
You see this is the root of your problem, and mine too to some extent. I think DC4 is fragile and sort of fails under intense pressure agaisnt great teams. But if JG brought out great play from the Qb1 on our current roster, wouldn’t that be good? Otherwise a new coach will scrap him and we’ll have to consider it all a complete failure. If JG would extend DC4 that would mean the plan worked, signing DC4.My point is that with Gruden, Carr could end up being here for more that one year and maybe more than two years. It would be a particularly lazy hire. Loomis' greatest move with the frachise was identifying a young, hungry coach that was not a particularly well known name at the time, and that's probably the best route for the team again. Get someone who's not intimidated by the project in front of him and wants to make his name, not someone who would be using his name for one last cash grab.I don't want an NFL retread as HC. If Belichick were still out there, I'd say the same about him. Gruden's passed his prime. We need a young, hungry, talented coordinator (either OC or DC) with both leadership and organizational skills to take over, who also needs to have a real eye for talent in all 3 phases of the game.

He might deserve a second chance, but if I was an owner or GM, the negatives from that situation and the lack of likelihood of him actually being a good coach in the mid to late 2020s in his mid 60s, would result in a Nope from me.I agree with the using his work email part. Look Widge... I don't want to go in circles with you again all day... LOL
Gruden is not my 1st choice...
I'd rather a young first time offensive minded HC or Vrable..
We are stuck with Carr for at least another year...
I do think Spencer can be the QB of the future... That future is not 2025.
There is a real chance we are not able to land Vrable or a young first time offensive minded HC this offseason...
If so... Get the best out of Carr with Gruden as the Bridge HC and QB.... Or go down in flames....
That's all I got.
