TIL: Today I Learned... (2 Viewers)

TIL that George Burns was born in 1896.. Let that ish sink in…. A guy who most of us grew up watching in movies and on The Tonight Show and everything else, was born in the freaking 1800s (!) Life is wild, and math is stupid……..
I mean, it wasn’t like he died yesterday. We only know of him because we are old. If you asked most millennials, they wouldn’t have a clue about George Burns. Those most inclined to reminisce about the past are the ones who were in it. 😢

I interviewed my great grandmother for a 7th grade school project- 1898 I believe- she talked about seeing her first car and all the rest
We will tell our grandchildren about seeing our first computer

My grandfather, not great grandfather, was born in 1889.
I'm not 60 yet. He died when I was 6 years old. I wish I had known him longer because all I remember was being scared of him. He wasn't mean, he just loved to pick on us.

TIL about spider goats.

https://engines.egr.uh.edu/episode/...mple process produces, that's spun by a spider. "A fairly simple process produces an astonishing product from the milk. Skim off the fat. Then, when you add salt, a special protein curdles out of the milk. Add water to that protein, and you get essentially the same fluid that's spun by a spider."

So… does this mean that spider webs would be a good source of protein? If so, I suppose that it will be on the menu soon.

I mean, the mind reels, right? I heard about it and thought, naw, that's nuts. But dang if it wasn't Googleable and everything.
