I don't think there is anything being reported to support that. There have been no in person interviews with the any of the remaining candidates and if it was one of the guys they already interviewed they'd just announce him.

What has been reported is that Zeigler was a big part of the search that isn't complete and he bailed to the Titans before it was done. If McCarthy or the 3 others that have been interviewed in person were the guy, they can be hired right now and they haven't been. If It's Kellen Moore or Kliff Kingsbury then he left before they interviewed. Those are facts.

Because it's a good look when other teams want the guys that work in your front office and are willing to give them promotions to get them. And Fletcher is a nepo baby that has no idea what he is talking about 90% of the time.

As far as his scouting, he hasn't been here long and hasn't really even had a chance to have an impact. Fuaga was a solid pick so far, but the rest are still unknown. Free agency wasn't anything special. But I'm not aware of his particular role in that regard other than being part of the team that did the job.

I do think he's a loss to our front office. He had a good history of talent evaluation. I actually would have like them to let go Ireland and give his job to Ziegler, but that was never likely to happen and I'm not certain if the draft issues are Ireland and the scouting or if it was giving DA the players he wanted.

Anway, it's not a good thing for him to go, but I don't think it says anything bad about the situation here. I think the title he had hear was consultant or something like that. He wasn't going to turn down an Assistant GM job.
