N/S TNF: Vikings vs Rams (1 Viewer)

The Vikings O Lineman that got hurt right before halftime - why were they even running a play? They were on their 3 yard line and there was about 15 seconds left in the half. Stupid coach got his player hurt.
Where have I seen this before???

Something to do with Michael Thomas, I think...

Its about as insufferable as the people who pretend like injuries are the only reason. Can't wait to see what the excuse will be next year and the year after that.
LOL so do this and tell me injuries are not the biggest cause of our 5 game slide. Type a paragraph on your key board, then do it ONE HANDED and compare your WPM . If you typed the same amounts of word in the same amount of time then injuries don't matter SMH

I never said injuries don't matter, no one is dumb enough to thank that, but I am also not blind to the many other major issues this team has.

Injuries did not cause us to lose to the Eagles we where winning with 2 minute's left and the defense could not hold.

Injuries did not cause us to lose to the Falcons we where winning with 1 minute left and the defense could not hold.

Explain to me what injuries on the defense caused us to give up 51 points to Bucs and 33 to Denver.

Good teams find ways to win games when the chips are down and under Allen we always lose close game. What you fail to see in this 5 game losing streak is not the fact that we loss. I expected KC to beat us, I was not shocked that Tampa and Denver won. There is clearly a point where the injuries pile up and its hard to see a path to victory. What was shocking in all three of those games was how lifeless the team felt. Poor game plans, poor tackling, stupid penalties and overall messy football, which are all signs of poor coaching.

Look if you want to pretend like it's all injury and once some guys get back it will all be better then fine, I can't ignore clear signs of a deeper issue.

I think the lose to the Eagles has less to do with the McCoy injury and more to do with the Eagles game plan. I think the lose to the Falcons has less to do with injuries and more to do with inexcusable mistakes that cost us the game.

There is some talent on this team and they will win some games, but they are way to inconsistent to make any meaningful playoff run. At this point this is not really even up for debate, This is Allen's third year we have plenty of data to support these conclusions.

There is a Mike Detillier article where he says that if a team loses their starting C in game they lose 70% of the time. , Yeah I get we had the lead in those 2 games with 2 min or less. But we were moving the ball before McCoy went down and we may have had more production from the O hence would have had a bigger lead at the end. And we had more players out aginst ATL so the same logic.
With SO many players out due to injury, it's impossible to judge our weaknesses accurately. Also football is a complimentary game when one side is playing very poorly the other side is at a disadvantage.
Having just a couple of injuries is not so hard for a team to overcome but to be decimated like we were is hard not to let it get to you. And DA is not the kind of HC that is a motivator, A Payton type coach would probably have gotten more out of the same players

If you build a team where losing one game that is not your QB goes down and your going to lose 70% of your games, then your doing something wrogn. I agree that Loomis is just as much a part of the problem as Allen.

None of the points you made about Philly/Atlanta change the fact that we where winning both games with under 2 minutes and had defense failures that cost the game. We where winning in spite of the those injurie's and found a way to lose.

I think when a team is playing with advertises your learn more about the character of the team. How hard there willing to push themselves and there teammates and to my eye, they folded. Its look like a team that knew they could not win and did not give 100% effort.

Look at this point we could go in circles trying to defend our position. I have conceded that injuries played a part in this 5 game skid. But lets also be honest there are lot is issues facing the Saints. You even problem up a glaring issue with DA yourself. This team needs a ton of work and getting healthy might not be the magic elixiar you think its going to be.

Sorry, the “did not give 100% effort” comment is flawed. Three DBs colliding at midfield is a communication error or simply bad luck. And Adebo too aggressively grabbing a receiver for a PI penalty was all effort rather than giving up. To say they weren’t giving full effort is a failed “effort” on your part to support all-things-DA-are-bad is weak. There’s plenty of reasons to rail on DA, but to say the players weren’t giving full effort in those situations doesn’t hold up.

You took my quote out of context. My lack of effort was directly targeting the three games against KC, Tampa, and Denver. It's clear the team was not playing with the same passion as they where in the first 4 games.

Not like I am the only one seeing it. Underhill has pointed it out on his podcast and I have seen several other point it out as well.

Got it. Sorry for the misread.
