I gotta say I have never seen this but I am going to go look for it. 1989’s Demi Moore? Get outta here…

It's from the same guy that made Better Off Dead (Savage Steve Holland) -- it's not as good, but it has some moments.

Little side note about the two movies. They filmed this one before Better Off Dead came out -- which is an alltime classic -- but when it did John Cusack was so mad that he thought it made him look stupid that he never worked with Holland again.

That’s crazy. it made everyone else around him look stupid that he looked like the only sane one. Maybe his best movie ( not saying his best performance). i did love some Gross Point Blank and Say Anything too though

” tentacles! He’s always got his tentacles all over you “. Go d I wanted a Monique so bad. I wonder if that’s why I have dated more foreign women than US citizens 🤔

I still use a line frm Better Off Dead all the time..
"I want my TWO DOLLARS!"

Oh, it's got a lot of good lines. Between my best friend from childhood and my younger brother, we can riff all day on that movie.

"It's got raisins in it. You like raisins."

"This is pure snow! It's everywhere! Do you have any idea what the street value of this mountain is?"

"What's a little boy like you doing with big boy smut like this?"

"First, we have Frawnch fries, and Frawnch dressing, and Frawnch bread. And to drink, Ta-da! Peru!"

"Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn."

"Chrisss-maaas! Christmas!"

"She only speaks French, Roy. She doesn't speak imbecile."

"Two brothers...One speaks no English, the other learned English from watching "The Wide World of Sports." So you tell me... which is better, speaking no English at all, or speaking Howard Cosell?"

“I've been going to this high school for seven and a half years. I'm no dummy. I know high school girls.”

“See... the problem here is that... my little brother, this morning, got his arm caught in the microwave, and uh... my grandmother dropped acid and she freaked out, and hijacked a school bus full of... penguins, so it's kind of a family crisis... so come back later? Great.”

“I know it’s bacon, what have you done to it?”

“I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was 12.. Jesus, does anyone?”
Mine was college
Good friends at 12 (mostly from ‘playground’ ball instead of school)
HS was pretty good (very tight in HS but hardly any carried over to college)
College is where all my ride or dies come from

Same same.. my friends at 12 were mostly kids from down the street or around the neighborhood whose last names i could not tell you today.. College was mostly where i met my lifelong pals .

Still, i think the line i quoted is one of the best final lines of a movie in cinema history, which is why i quoted it.. it always hits me hard, especially since it immediately follows the revelation that the River Phoenix character was stabbed and killed .

There was actually one decent song to come out of that thing , that i always thought was pretty catchy.. and the video is pure 80s cheese, in the best way .. and ONJ could do no wrong in my eyes .

It’s totally worth a rewatch it for nothing else than trying to guess how much coke was snorted on set
