Never heard of it

I honestly never saw it and probably never will....

As mentioned upthread, far from a perfect movie.. but Cruise’s best performance, a true tour de force…. the scene at the train station when he’s waiting for Kyra Sedgewick’s character for the first time since returning from war as a paralyzed veteran.. she scans the crowd and cant find him- until she looks down and sees him in his wheelchair……. Cruise does a magnificent job in that scene of acting only with his eyes,, an entire script’s worth of heartbreaking dialogue, in one look.. as Edie Brickell plays in the background…. one of my favorite scenes in cinematic history, it’s that good .

The only movie I can watch with Cruise in it, he's very good in this movie....mainly because he is believable and for once, doesn't overact his role....

I would never have guessed so many episodes wow
However, I was also 5 in Jan 1989

Those first couple yrs of Arsenio were really fun.. much like how those of us who watched Letterman in the mid-late 80s felt like we were in some kind of late night ‘club’, where we could stay up late and watch something more edgy than we’d seen on Carson.. with Arsenio, you actually felt - not only like you were IN a club- but like you were out at THE club becuase of the guests and music acts Arsenio had on every night .. had a much more urban feel than any of the other talk shows, in a very good way … unfortunately towards the end, Arsenio- IMO- started to take himself and the show way too seriously and he seemed a bit preachy, I felt .. or maybe fame and ego just did their thing with him like many others .

I always felt that Iron Eagle was a ripoff of Top Gun…. Until i realized that it came out *before* Top Gun …. :covri:
I suppose it could still be
There've long been stories of studios hearing about a hot project in another studio, then going back into their discard pile for similar stories and rushing those into production
Not sure if this is the case here (or how much that actually happened), but it’s possible
