Todays Presidential "statement of the day".... (2 Viewers)

"Mr. President, what would you say to people who are soon going to have to pay $4 a gallon for gasoline?"

"I would tell them that if they do more hard work, maybe the jobs that Americans don't want to do, then it won't be such hard work affording it."

Those would be minimum wage jobs that you are referring to right? So work harder and it won't be so hard to afford it. A little obvious math. The tank on my truck holds 22 gallons. Multiply that by the $3.69 I paid last night and you get $81.18. Now divide that by the minimum wage of $5.75. OK. That works out to 14.7 hours just to fill the tank of my truck.

Dude...that was sarcasm...those words in bold are Bushisms.

We're all hurting...it wasn't personal.

the whole point of my post was to point out how "out of touch" this guy truly is. If he had NO CLUE what is going on with oil, but knows Roger Clements is staring down the barrel of a Congress shotgun, that should tell you ALL you need to know.
He wasnt saying that in jest or to be funny, he REALLY meant it. And he has last say over economic policy...

Yeah, I don't know what those dingbats at Yale and Harvard were thinking. :dunno:

they where thinking what a lot of ivy league schools do...your daddy went here, was the head of the c.i.a.,is rich, and gives us a lot of money, so dispite your straight "c" average in high school and your adiction to cocaine and alcohol.....george walker bush you are excepted to our school...:9:

I think he knows and doesn't really care. This means all of his buddys from the Chevron execs to the Bin Ladens will see billions upon billions of more profits.

he's gotta work somewhere after his 8 years of wasted time...

When was the last time a President pumped gas?

My sentiments exactly. The gas station right up the street from his house (Lukoil at 2715 Penn Ave) is 3.39 for the cheap stuff.

Today's paper has a photo of a guy filling up a Bugatti in L.A. at a station charging 3.93 for the cheap stuff, 4.19 premium.

If presidents didn't helicopter in and out of the White House lawn, they might see the signs a little more often

For something as critical to the economy as gas I don't think he should need to pump it to know whats going on.

If you think the president of this country doesn't know what the cost of a gallon of gas is,(like him or not) then you shouldn't be writing comments on a public forum.
