Total Lunar Eclipse Monday or Tuesday (1 Viewer)

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really see the big deal about it falling on the winter solstice. This day we get the least amount of sunlight a year. I get it. The chances of it falling on any given day more than once in our lifetime is rare. It's not like the people on the other side of the world got to see a solar eclipse or anything

What's not to get? People enjoy paintings or wine or anything really, but if there is a coinciding multiplier, it makes the object/event all the rarer. Take with it what you will. Maybe you're the guy that doesn't care if it snows on Christmas day. :idunno:

I understand the rarity of the solstice/eclipse coincidence but I didn't understand the need to make it seem like the eclipse would somehow wear some superlative for that. I saw people referring to Dec. 21 as "the eclipse." No, eclipses happen regularly.

I'm not due for an eclipse of personal significance until 2076 (it'll fall on my 92nd birthday, assuming I make it there).

Finally, I don't care if it snows on Christmas. I'm a southerner at heart and I lived and dealt with large amounts of snow when I lived in Chicago. I hate snow.

Go figure we get around 360 days a year of clear sky here and it's been overcast the past 2...so it's nice to see some pics.

Here's to your good health then. If I should make it to 95, and I have the constitution to remember it on that year's lunar eclipse, I'll wish you a happy birthday.
