Transformers One (1 Viewer)

Hey @Optimus Prime, did you go see this? I went this evening with my daughter. I rather enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I finally saw Transformers One. It's very very very unfortunate this movie hasn't gotten more attention. It is, BY FAR, the best Transformers movie we've gotten in these last three decades. I put it right up there with Transformers: The Movie. Actually, it's better. It's a really good movie. You don't even have to be a Transformers fan to love it.

It's now available for digital download on Amazon Prime Video and other providers.

Just finished it. I really enjoyed it. Top notch animation, action, and some pretty great humor...

I gotta admit, the quip by Elita calling Orion Pax and the others Go Bots had me rolling...

That trailer I posted earlier in the thread turned on me off on it entirely, I thought it looked awful. Based on the reviews I’ve seen lately, sounds like the trailer did not do the film justice.

Yeah, I might give it a shot with these good reviews. Wasn't planning on watching it.

Yes, the trailer was absolutely terrible. Also, Chris Hemsworth did an fantastic job as Orion Pax / Optimus Prime. He's not Peter Cullen but he's pretty spot on to be a successor. The only problem, IMO, is that he'll be very expensive for follow on projects (if there are any). He's not likely to do any of the TV shows.

Brian Tyree Henry absolutely SHINES as D-16/Megatron. It helps that the character has some great writing. You can totally empathize with Megatron's anger, as it builds through the movie.

Scarlett Johansson, as Elita-1, was also pretty good. The characters dynamic with everyone was fantastic. I loved how she treats Shockwave. No one in this movie was bad. It's just so unfortunate the studio did a crap job of promoting the film.

I finally watched this over the weekend and I thought it was genuinely great. No where near as kiddie or jokey as the trailer made it look

Thought the in jokes were great "You don't have the touch or the power", the go-bots dig, "you're more than meets the eye"

Even though Cullen and Welker are forever the "real" Optimus and Megatron I thought the voices worked. the whole cast was pretty good

I thought that Pax's and D-16's close friendship felt real and genuine, I thought that D's personality and outlook changes felt believable and even understandable, D's final betrayal and turn to Megatron was heartbreaking (loved when his eyes turned red)

Honestly, I thought that this was what George Lucas was trying to achieve with Anakin and Obi-Wan in the prequels (and failed with 3 times the run time to play with)

I really hope that there is a sequel to this, even if it's straight to streaming. I'd be fine keeping it on Cybertron, no need to go to Earth

I'm really hoping for a trilogy. For 2nd film introduce more characters (Ironhide, Ratchet etc. who had cameos) and focus on either taking down the Quintessons, or expand the Autobot - Decepticon War

Final film Unicron. As much as I love the 86 movie I always wished they could have done the movie with the whole G1 cast instead of killing off everyone

And the whole trilogy could be just Transformers, maybe other alien races, no Earth, no humans
