Tropical Storm remnants expected to hit SoCal Sunday (Update: Game will go as scheduled) (1 Viewer)

Lived out there years ago, they don't have ditches to drain away the water. I couldn't understand how a little rain could cause so much flooding. But kinda matches everything that California does. No foresight.
We have what's called watersheds. Large basins that collect water from storm drains through a particular area.

The storm changed speed and it's path kept veering from the consensus of the models late Friday through Saturday as it grew closer to Los Angeles. That's why it was less damaging than forecast for Los Angeles county. The NWS, state, county and local officials have to plan for what they models are predicting/forecasting to be the most likely outcome.
So with this statement, it seems you're confirming that it was okay to continue with going ahead and play the game. The league and stadium personnel checked with the NWS, radar, and updated projections and determined it was low risk because the storm was severely weakened and rain projections were 1-2 inches. Especially considering that few people were going to turn out anyway given it was a preseason game combined with the rainy weather. We've seen much worse with El Nino storms and santa Ana winds.

I'm thankful people who think like you are not in charge, for the most part anyway.
Why am I such a terrible, untrustworthy person because I wouldn't allow any sporting event occur in severe weather and prevent anyone to get hurt or seriously injured. even if it's over-cautious and sort of over-reaching?

And I'm far from the only person on SR and on this thread who believes this way and stated so during the discussion.

Look what happened when those who are in positions of power in Hawaii and the early-warning first-alert not working and costing quite a few Maui residents having their forking homes burned to the ground and brave people like bclemms highlighting and exposing their incompetence afterwards. Sometimes the best possible available politicians screw up spectacularly under conditions where their leadership is tested severely and they fail utterly and don't meet the challenges.

People can still get hurt or in car wrecks and it was unnecessary to do so because it was a low-importance preseason game. The fact that game wasnt well-attended speaks to most fans didnt take any chances or risks driving in bad weather. Sure, it was a pre-season game and they usually attract low attendence anyway, but its difficult to argue that the game wouldn't had larger attendence if it werent for L.A. having its first TS/hurricane in 84 years.

Since this a saints football forum, it's pointless to debate these nonsaints issues. People will get hurt in car accidents in any condition, rain, dry etc. Your posts make borderline insane overreactions on many fronts. Does this make you untrustworthy as a person? Not really. Just someone whom I'm sure is a blast at partiesšŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
