I wanted to see your viewpoint on this play. It's a very very successful play for those that run it (of course Eagles started it and ran it the most). Here are the teams and how many times it was run and success rate.

Eagles 46 times 91%
Bills 12 times 100%
Bears 7 times 100%
Steelers 6 times 100%
Giants 6 times 83%

Combined, it's an overall 81% conversion.

While I think it's a great play, it's a bit unfair for blockers to block 6 or 7 people versus 2-3 depending one the push.

If it were to be banned, it would happen this offseason. What are your thoughts and should we use this until it's banned? I think this would be a great play to use with Taysom Hill.

Yes. 81% success rate is misleading. Almost half of the failed attempts were from mishandling the snap, slipping or tripping.

I want drama on 3rd and 4th and 1. Right now it is basically a free pass.

With that said, the teams that don’t use it are probably poorly coached teams that struggle offensively and in the red zone.

Yes. It's a garbage play that ends up being a judgment call by the refs on when to stop forward progress.

You can't pull guys across the LOS. You shouldn't be able to push them across either.

Just for context, a QB sneak by any team not listed above is converting at about a 63% rate this season.

THIS!!!! You shouldn’t be able to help a player (push or pull) cross a scrimmage line without straight up blocking.

This is how trends work. As soon as someone figures it out, no one will run it. Or they’ll use it for a setup for some sort of outside run.

Usually “low man wins,” but in this scenario I might want my linebackers to stay high. Didn’t Demario Davis force a fumble or get a big stop defending on a similar play last year by going over the pile?

+ “tush push” is an 11/10 term and I love it.
