I wanted to see your viewpoint on this play. It's a very very successful play for those that run it (of course Eagles started it and ran it the most). Here are the teams and how many times it was run and success rate.

Eagles 46 times 91%
Bills 12 times 100%
Bears 7 times 100%
Steelers 6 times 100%
Giants 6 times 83%

Combined, it's an overall 81% conversion.

While I think it's a great play, it's a bit unfair for blockers to block 6 or 7 people versus 2-3 depending one the push.

If it were to be banned, it would happen this offseason. What are your thoughts and should we use this until it's banned? I think this would be a great play to use with Taysom Hill.

Other teams that are trying it are having success. Injuries have also come out of this as well as more started to do it. Having an overall 81% success rate and the teams that have tried it are listed above means that it is VERY successful. With that amount of bodies, injuries are definitely the concern. The play itself is successful.

Here’s why I don’t like it. Football is looking less and less like football. When I see the tush push it feels like I’m watching rugby. On the good side, it’s one of the few plays where a team can physically impose their will, or be shut down. Physical football is a lost art.

I wish him no ill will, just think it’s a bad idea to push a QB’s midsection with 3 guys into 15 more going in all directions.
