TWC/AP reports: NFL Ready to Take on the Weather in Super Bowl (1 Viewer)

I dont care how many workers you have. Nothing can stop mother nature. SO....Yea Right NFL!!:angryrazz:

HATE to hurt your feelings, but regardless of the weather conditions, it will sellout, and people will LOVE it.

Ever been to a Super Bowl? Over 50% are NFL Sponsor corporate Executives, high level employees or their clients. They will not be happy. Unhappy sponsors equal unhappy NFL

These sponsors are well aware of what's at risk, and they just don't care.

Yea, ok.

Acme executive: This Super Bowl sucks, I got wet!
Roger Goodell: Who gives a ****, we make $10 billion a year and are growing astronomically. Ha! All those pathetic knaves watching at home are lapping this **** up because they get to sit on their couch and watch football in the snow. They don't even care about how I'm ruining the sport! *strangles kitten, eats it with a knife and fork, gives the remains to Eli, his perfectly groomed prized chocolate lab*
Acme executive: I don't like that tone, I'm pulling our sponsorship!
Acme Board: *fires corporate executive, remains a sponsor*

I cannot wait to see what happens with this game. I'm sure the local merchants are ticked off about the busing, no vehicles policy. The area is heavily commercial, with lots of small businesses as well as big box stores.

This is why New Orleans is such a great venue for superbowls. The stadium is right in the middle of things, but there's no need to restrict anything. People come from all directions. With MetLife, most people will be coming through the Lincoln Tunnel, which is atrocious at best, let alone having extra traffic. There really isn't a good alternative: GW Bridge is way too far away; Holland Tunnel is not very close either. So, it's not just the weather that's the problem. From the Jersey direction, I have no idea what those people will do. I'm glad I have no responsibility for planning this event. And of course, it will be a smashing success according to the NFL's public relations maching no matter what happens.

Last year, I worked on the live concert that takes place the night before the Super Bowl, but this year, they're not even bothering to do it because of all these crazy restrictions.

NFL takes on Mother Nature and Wins
First Modern Day NFL Championship played outdoors was successful beyond even our wildest imaginations...NFL spokesperson.

This will be the headline on post SB Monday. Or something similiar.

The NFL will claim success even if there is 3 foot of snow on the ground and no one in the stadium.

I still don't understand why a lot of users would love to see the next Super Bowl turn out to be a mess. I love the Saints AND the NFL, so I certainly hope that this Super Bowl will be as successful as the ones that preceded it. In fact I already booked an hotel to live the Super Bowl experience in a city that I wanted to visit since I was young, even if I'll decide in the coming days to go or not (I can cancel my hotel reservation without any problem up until the last moment).

Moreover I don't comprehend why there can't be a Super Bowl with wintry elements every once in a while. To the ones who suggest that the final game of the season should be played in neutral conditions, I point out that neutral conditions don't exist. For example, teams like the Saints (or the Rams of the "Greatest show on turf") are obviously favored in dome stadiums, just like passing teams are favored in summer days.

Last but not least just imagine what would happen if the Saints win the Super Bowl in a MetLife Stadium filled with snow...it would be epic beyond belief and they could erase in the blink of an eye every discussion about "not winning on the road with low temperatures" and/or "they rarely win outdoor". However let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, as this Sunday there's already a huge match to focus on.

Sounds like we have ourselves a Packers fan here!

I think too many people have read far too much into the lose against the Bears in the NFC Championship game.

I see no reason this team wont be able to win in severe wintery weather, we have as much heart if not more than most other teams.

None of our road loses this year had anything to do with weather.

I think our defense would be just fine in weather and I think the strength of our tight end, the good hands and depth of our receivers and the intelligence of Brees prevail in weather.

Winter weather reduces quickness, exploits the weak of heart, and magnifies a lack of discipline.

I hope it snows like mad and we destroy the opposition and end the nonsense of being inferior outdoors.

I was at the Jets game this year. The wind was completely nuts. The second I stepped out of the car into that wind chill I knew we were in trouble. Turns out we were.

I wish we were good in cold "football" weather because it's fun to root for gruff grind it out teams and make fun of the finesse ones, but we are a finesse team. Embrace it

I was there, too. The wind wasn't bad at all during the game. Also, it warmed up once the sun came out. The weather was not why we lost that game. Saints' O line got man-handled, and Toon couldn't catch a cold.
