His speed just seems to be at a different level. Makes him look like he's gliding when he takes off. Love the potential but worried about size. AK was 20-25 pounds more in his draft year, thats a big deal. I honestly don't know a lot about Tyjae. Is there room to add some weight/muscle to his frame with out slowing him down? Is he driven to do so?

Kamara was bigger, but only about 10lbs bigger. Size shouldn’t be an issue at this level for Spears. Plenty of RB’s have had success around his size coming into the league.

Tyjae Spears weighed 204lbs (5’9”) at the Senior Bowl.


Kamara weighed 214lbs (5’10”) at the Combine.

Yes, agree 100%. Saints need to get some more talent in the room at RB, these would be two great additions. Need to figure on some sort of "replacement" for Kamara for a good part of the season and need a bruiser RB who can get tough yards inside. Depending on what happens with Carr, Saints at least have a few picks this year, assuming they don't trade up again.

His Senior Bowl coaching staff was from the Falcons coaching staff.

They only handed the ball off 2 him 1 time all game long.

Leave it up to the Falcons to screw up a good thing

I’d draft Spears and a short yardage bruiser. It’d cover for Kamara’s possible suspension and allow for him to be used more as a Swiss Army Knife.

My dream pairing is Spears with Chris Rodriguez. Perfect compliment to each other and CRod can probably be snatched up on day 3

I think the Senior bowl helped him more than the combine did. Combine just affirmed what you can see on film.
I believe he's right next to Charbonnet as a late 2nd or early 3rd round pick just what flavor you prefer between the 2

I think that in the 3rd round, Miller, Spears, Charbonnet, and McBride will all be there. We would be wise to take any of these guys. Then add another RB with one of the 5th rounders we have.

With so much focus on QB, what folks aren't realizing is it is some DAWGS coming out at RB this season...

When I first saw him play, last year or the year before, can’t remember, but I do remember thinking wow, Tulane has its own Dalton Hilliard. Then they totally rocked last season. Pratt will also be a steal. Seriously, if we drafted Pratt & Spears & Boutte (if he falls hard). I would be stoned and labeled the biggest homer, but it would be ok because I would be right as rain! My point is don’t fall in love with one RB because theres an over abundance of them this year. I’ve never seen a year with this many great ones.

Pratt is staying at Tulane for his senior year.
I agree though, he is solid.

I didn't really watch any Tulane games this season, but I was very impressed with Spears two seasons ago. I would love for us to draft him.

I saw every home Tulane football game this past season. He is deceptively quick/shifty for a guy with his strength.
