N/S Tyreek Hill arrested for traffic violation by stadium in Miami on gameday (Hill played) [Reckless driving & seatbelt charges dismissed] (1 Viewer)

RESPECT MY AUTHORITAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!

He refused to get out of his car after they told him to multiple times. There's bodycam footage of it.

That said, I feel like the cops could have handled it better once the door was lifted. Like, why drag him out and be super physical after you've established he isn't a threat.

Like someone else said, whole lot of stupidity for all involved.

Fault all around in my opinion.
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This all started with the one cop that approach Hill 1st. His entire interaction with Hill was nothing but disrespectful and confrontational, then he extended his unprofessional attitude towards Hill's teammates! Frack that dude and I have nothing but disdain and contempt for him and the others like him!

Hill roll down his window to greet this forker and his very 1st words to him are " WHY YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR SEATBELT ON? WHY YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR SEATBELT ON?" I don't know about you, but my wallet with my ID is in my back pocket, I would unbuckle to retrieve my wallet. The only person trying to deescalate was Hill. These beaches don't deserve to wear a badge!

He was never given a chance to refuse to get out of the car, he was unlawfully taken from his car by force! He was never even told why he was being stopped! They never ask for license and registration, they went from 0 to 100 in less time than Hill's McLaren.

I can't wait to hear his full thoughts on this encounter.

I believe they went that route bc of him being told not to roll his window back up and he refused to follow their order, that alone is breaking the law. Clearly that is a major safety issue for the officer.

However, that’s only what I was told by people that watched the footage of the body cam. I have not.

More than likely both parties are at fault. If he wasn’t driving like an idiot he isn’t in that situation, if he obeyed it doesn’t escalate, if he wasn’t putting everyone’s life in danger there’s likely not as much animosity, and then the officers I guess could have showed more self control in the situation.

How about treating a citizen with the same respect you demand from them!

Again, the officer never asked for his license/other docs and never explained the reason for the stop. They went full-on aggression from the the 1st words towards that citizen.

I can respect that. Definitely not trying to argue. Just think a lot of people have single minded tunnel vision views on topics like this. Not you, per se. Just stating what seems to be the obvious.

But I know if someone is reckless driving putting lives at risk, I’m not worried about showing him any respect. Doesn’t mean I want to harm him or anything like that, but verbally I’m not worried about showing him respect. However, maybe that’s why I’m not a police officer lol

The cop had his license already. What are you looking at?

SAS said it best. There was excessive force, but Tyreke can't say he didn't know what he did wrong when the cop told him several times to put the window down before asking him to get out of the car (which he did several times). As a black man with those dark tinted windows, he's lucky they didn't bust those windows or worse.

If he was my son, I would have slapped the sheet out of him for disobeying everything I taught him about interactions with a cop (windows down, hands on the forking steering wheel).

He willingly gave his to the officer, I never said that they did not have his license, I said they never asked for anything. Since they had his license, why are they still hanging around his car? What are they doing? They have what they need to issue a citation, right? Their job requires them to be the professional, it's not up to the citizen surrender their civil rights. Our rights don't end where their fear begins. Freedom is scary, deal with it. -TCRL

How do they know he’s not a threat? Dude has the darkest tints on the planet, with the windows up, and refusing to comply? Play stupid games and you win stupid prizes

Cops unnecessarily escalating a benign situation because they lose all self-control when they’ve pulled someone over.

Tyreek Hill has an unpleasant history of aggressing toward women so it is hard for me to be sympathetic toward him in most contexts.

Police are doing a job and thus are held to a higher standard than any citizen they’ve taken an oath to serve and protect.

Hill could have done a little more to make this situation easier on himself. The cops could have done A LOT more to make this situation easier on everybody.

1. He was speeding in an area with traffic barrels so it was already a caution zone. (broke the law, but not egregious)
2. He refused to roll down his window. (totally dumb thing to do)
3. He was combative repeatedly telling the officer to not knock on his window. (nothing to gain by being combative)
4. He raised his window up after the office repeatedly told him not to. (totally dumb thing to do)
5. He was not wearing a seatbelt. (some say he took it off to get his wallet, but you should never until you engage the officer and ask if you can remove the seatbelt to retrieve the wallet)
6. He was told to exit the vehicle and did not do so immediately. (at this point, based on his previous interactions here, he's not taking this traffic stop seriously and only making it worse)

1. I don't think the forceful removal of him from the vehicle was necessary. (sure, Hill was being an arse throughout the whole interaction, but the officer has to still maintain restraint)
2. Probably procedure to handcuff or they refer to it as temporarily restrain a non-compliant individual.

Nobody is going to come out of this incident looking good. Clearly the officer went a step too far, but Hill was non-compliant over and over. For him to state he did nothing wrong or to claim that he was driving while black (he may not have said it but i've seen it mentioned either by teammates or the media), well that's emphatically not the case in this situation.

keep your window down, put your window down. if you don't put your window down I'm gonna take you out of the car.
He then gets taken out of the car. then a 3rd party tries to get involved. non of that will end well.

stop watching the Tic Toc lawyers!
