Hala Madrid! Viva Los Blancos! 😁

Was not looking great in the first half. I actually worried Courtois wouldn’t be up for the match with having just come back from his ACL, but he was our best player in the first half.

Modric coming on for Kroos was a great touch. Had my Modric jersey on yesterday.

How about this filth from Vini? Led to the corner for the goal.

When i saw the slo mo replay live, i thought i tore MY acl on the plant/change of direction part.

The beauty is that he had been driving the line all game vs Ryerson, so Ryerson was angling to pinch him down and this time Vini just "stops" the ball, but not his movement, and Ryerson runs right over the ball and his own momentum takes him out the play. Sublime.

Each team will play eight matches against eight different clubs, four at home and four away. The teams each club plays will be selected from four seeded pots (based on ranking) with two opponents being drawn from each – with one home game and one away game per pot.

This is a departure from the former group-stage format, in which teams played against the three other teams in their group twice (one home and one away game per opponent).

not a huge fan, but had to accommodate for 4 more teams entering play.

There was a level of excitement when a team would play its 3 group games home/away. Plus, for the traveling fan, made it easier to plan.

2 additional midweek games added ( was 6 in group play, now 8 ) which, if a CL team has a big weekend match-up, you may not see the best 11 out there.

At least they kept the knockout round home/away

It will be a primer for adjusting to all the WC schedule changes

Don’t mind this one as much bc there are usually some pretty good squads who’d been left out of the 32 format
Quality shouldn’t dip thatthat much

New format is DOG- well you get the point. They're doing all this to expand it to a few chancers that need miracle runs but the lack of away goals makes it harder for miracle runs. Makes zero sense, it's there answer to the super league tho. UEFA doesn't realize the super league had nothing to do with matchups and everything to do with money.

Catching up on highlights from today now.

Champions League Thibault Courtois is in full form already.

Pulisic got one early for Milan but they ultimately lost.

How about Bayern knowing the rules… 😆😬
