Have to imagine all this- seeing/reading/hearing has to be a bit surreal since you spent a good bit of time in this region.
Yep, it is a bit surreal. Although on the wrong side of current events, I still feel sorry for my former colleagues and the villagers that live in these regions.

even more interesting is DOM.RF sanction. The Russian NAtional Wealth Fund holds about 137,000.00 million Rubles of that stock. The thinking is Russian NWF uses that to turn illiquid assets into liquid assets ( when it needs cash )

But with the sanction- that just got a lot harder to do.

The belt is starting to tighten around the neck of the entire Russian economic and financial system. Russia is finding itself in a very precarious position going forward. One event -global or domestic - shock to the system can have a devastating effect and cause the collapse to go into overdrive.

WOW.

just 3 mo ago it was around 82.

there is a whole bunch of economic/financial turmoil waiting to pop off in Russia and they have no good remedies. They all will leave some damage to some facet of the economy/financial system.

Just today- CEntral Bank of Russia said it will "surcharge" banks/companies seeking loans with already high levels of debt

So - want $$$? ok since your are debt-laden, it will cost you EXTRA ( that you cant pay obviously due to already full of debt )

insane. They dont have any answers.

M109A6 155mm ( Paladin self propelled howitzer ) strikes a Russian bunker/hangar that had a tank.

After strike, fire. RuAF thought it was clear, even with the fire, to salvage any equipment i guess.

Wrong.

Who would borrow money from someone that doesn't have any, LOL.

Someone in desperate need of money and no on else is willing to loan any? They are in serious trouble. The only money they have access to is in Russia and it’s all Russian, no outside interests. They may as well be using Monopoly money.

It's going up! That's a good thing! Haha.

Not if you are a company that imports or exports.
Or a Russian citizen.

LOL.

Also of note- unemployment in Moscow is .18% - that means that there is no labor to be had- all jobs available are filled. Meaning no new job creation which will lead to folks looking for work will have to leave the region to find employment, putting additional train on finding labor

They are close to, if not in already, a downward spiral, that is self-feeding. Russian economic issues are compounding daily.
