Underhill mumbles "they tried to trade for him before" in reference to Davante Adams (1 Viewer)

Honestly I would just call the Texans and see what they want for John Metchie III. You only need a slot, and dude was looking really good in preseason. You could get him for a late pick or something year after next.

In our current system, TEs are just as important. It’s one of the reasons Taysom is having such success. I wish we had another Graham on the roster.

Only this year is garaunteed in the NFL. Fans put too much stock into the future. As a GM If your team is performing well you gotta make that move that will improve thier post season chances

Let’s ride with what we’ve got and improve the cap position for future years.

We have a powerful offense right now and we can find WR help in the draft in 2025 while still fielding a young WR corps.

I thought they was trying to get the cap straight? Lol

A big no from me, need whatever money we have to sign important players on our squad right now
The Cap doesn't exist

Nah but forreal, I agree. No need to drop that kind of money.

He would really have to want to come here and take a pay cut.

Which is possible if we continue to play like this, and he's ring shoppin

If we are killing teams and consistently winning why would we mess with what we got going on right now?
it'd be like 2018 where you can never add enough talent. Look how beneficial it was for the Rams to get Dante Fowler.

We'd have to legit be in "oh they are actually a Super Bowl contender" territory tho.

Yeah ,sure
trade for that 30+ wr who will earn 44 millions in 2025 & 2026

It's a no for me

We’d almost certainly do some sort of extension or restructure if this scenario played out. I don’t see us going down this road though unless someone like Olave or Shaheed gets a significant injury and we are sitting at 8-0 or something crazy to where we firmly are within reach of a possible HFA championship run.

Need a third guy. Time is coming when that third receiver will be needed to produce more. Cedric Wilson is nonexistent and Perry has been a healthy scratch last game. A lot unproven. Adam’s still a stud for the right price.

Unless there's an injury, why would you bring an extra receiver now? The system is set and is working wonders with the current roster... given the back to back 40 burgers, and points being scored in like 90% of drives and mostly TD's, what does another WR bring?

35.6 million cap hits for the next two seasons.

Would be great to have, but realistically we cannot afford him. We have a bunch of guys we need to sign in the offseason, and we also have Olave that will be extension eligible in the offseason (hopefully we can get him signed early at a lower number)

Right now it is basically impossible for the Saints to trade for Adams without him taking a massive paycut pre-trade.

edit: preliminary look at the numbers, Saints would need approximately $16m in cap space, currently have just under $3.8m. Oof.
It's about $14 million, you only have to pay his per game salary for the games that are left. It's a one year rental. Saints could clear the space if needed. A couple of restructured contracts, extend Kamara. It would just be a one year rental, HIGHLY unlikely he would not get cut after the season.

I'm not against this idea. If the Raiders lose today, I know who they are playing, pick up the phone and offer a 4th Round pick.
