The commitment to recovery defense has been super impressive, and there is more creativity attacking. I'm a bit nervous about triple-G's return. I thought he did ok - getting WC qualified and through the group stage was good, but it was not inspiring and the whole Gio controversy really soured me on him.

I want to see more of this type of play.

I think we had a few dial down just a hair as we got near 60 min. Canada was quicker to balls than US. We defended really well, got lucky a few times, and unlucky when Folarin didn't get his 2nd off a lucky clearance off line.

But love that we can only point to 3 real mistakes over 90.

And Weah with that 40 yd strike that was fingertip save. He deserved for his work tonite.

He had arm tucked to body, so there was no way that was gonna get called. It was Pure luck he was at that spot because he had started moving to cover left post.

I can’t help but feel like the reason we’ve looked so good is that Adams being out allowed Reyna to play, even with us moving to dual defensive mids for coverage.

There was a move early in first..a ball from Dest, up the line toward touch and Gio was in foot race w MNT player who had the angle. Gio, about 15 yards from ball, took two or three strides that the only way I can describe, was as "elongated" and he got there before. What I took from that is he has this move, but only uses when needed, and only uses the minimum number that allows him to beat defender. It was impressive.

Most of us knew he was a top 3 player last fall during that thing called the WC....one of the few that didn't was that dolt Berhalter.....

This is why Reyna is that important.

By now you would think that even Berhalter's idiocy can't take him off the pitch....hope so anyway.....as you can tell I'm not a fan of bringing him back, a coach's first rule is to know who the players are.....
