USMNT - ‘23 and beyond (3 Viewers)

The Balo turn and strike just outside 6yd box was beautiful

One part of the game we’ve been lacking besides a top shelf 9, is a guy who has ice in his veins in front of goal instead of flipping out. So many times over the years we just didn’t have a guy who could stay calm and finish.

Wondo v Belgium 2014 comes to mind.

Decades. We hadn't had a full on goal poaching player for as long as I can remember. Dempsey was close but he wasn't the full package threat (lacked speed) that keeps defenders honest.

But you preaching to choir here. That has, since the 90s, been my biggest critique of player development. Never had that guy.

Then I have to watch the likes of (in no particular order ) Drogba, Mueller, klose, Klinsmann, Ronaldo, etc etc. And we just couldn't find ONE? Made me mental lol

Cardozo thought he was Balogun

He ain't. Lol

When Weah goes wide open, it’s a different level than anyone else. Had a run against Germany where he basically passed the ball to himself knowing he could blow by the defender.

One of Yedlin’s first matches I remember watching him get a ball deep in the defensive side and just go screaming up the right side - carrying the ball and outpacing players like the were standing still
I really thought that was the beginning of something special
Every match Weah has one of those moments- just hits Nitro and burns grass

Yedlin showed that kind of speed at the 2014 WC. The WC bump was bigger for him than any other American I believe. Wasn’t long after that he was with Spurs. He opened some eyes with his pace. Had some decent seasons with Sunderland and Newcastle, but didn’t reach the hype he created at the WC.

In this window, we are a combined 5-1 on goals with Gio in, 0-2 without him. Difference maker.

Just imagine the impact he may have had if a certain coach didn't have his head up his.....

in the last WC....

Interesting attack
Also looking forward to seeing CCV
seemingly he’s having a down year in Scotland
Also Turner is slumping a bit and has been on the bench last few matches

Uruguay just blanked Argentina 2-0.

Strong showing for them.

FYI Nov 21 Brazil v Argentina. 630 pm cst.

Not feeling it from Tillman yet - everyone else doing pretty well Robinson is on one

I actually want a few more hopeful crosses
