Utah are open to trade discussions for Lauri Markkanen (1 Viewer)

I think that's fair. I much rather just trade Ingram to Utah and make them do the work for picks.
There's other teams that could make offers where Utah wouldn't have to involve a 3rd team or do all the work. They get rid of Lauri they are hitting the reset button... again. They want picks and tradeable vets on short contracts.

Going 11 deep would be pretty crazy:

Lauri / Kessler - Missi
Zion / Lauri
Murphy - Ryan
Herb - CJ - Hawkins
Murray - Jose

Deep shooting for days.
Man, that is a great looking roster.

They was always going to have to hit that reset button, because the window with Lauri never made sense. He's too good to get Utah a blue chip talent. Nobody wants to go to Utah.

Utah realizing a hybrid rebuild with a potential star player in his prime don't work. You gotta to strip it down to the foundation and build around 20 year olds.

@LAhotsauce

I would like to say... I just have personal disdain for Utah. So, that's like 99% of my stance on it. Some people try to have a rivalry with Phoenix, but I grew up with hating Utah, Spurs, and Rockets.

Good point. Actually looking at it that way, CJ may be of value. Good locker room leader and willing teacher whose $32 million contract will come off the books in 2 years when they may be looking to bring in a high price veteran to be with the young talent they will be acquiring

The only problem is that we still kind of need a locker room godfather with Nance gone. Granted... A leader isn't worth $30 million.

Another good point. Unless we HAVE to move CJ for financial reasons I have no problem keeping him.

I know offense gets all the attention, but I would love to see our defense with a starting lineup of Jones, TM3, Zion, Murray, and a quality rim protecting center

True! I'm going to miss him, and if Dyson Daniels gets his shot going we might end up regretting dealing him. That being said, my thinking for this offseason was wanting the Pels to go out and get someone that is clutch! Ingram and CJ really disappoint when it comes to closing out games. I've seen Murray make some tough game winners in the past so I am encouraged by that.

At one point in time, I would feel the same way. But I think that injury this past season has changed him completely. He was not the same once he came back. I mean, how many times were we screaming for him to take the wide open looks only to pass the ball?

I don’t think we need that anymore Brandon is 26-27 been in the league awhile I’m sure Murray is about 24 25
Herb is mature
Alvarado is mature
Only truly young players is hawk and the rookies everyone else is old enough to not need a daddy around anymore to tell them what to do lol

I'm not writing him off, but we are not in a position to play wait and see if he develops. We been playing wait and see for 3-4 seasons

Murray will be 28 before the season starts. BI will be 27. Herb 26 in October. Zion will be 24 in a few days. This team no longer needs unc around.

Cavs are hard posturing with JA trying to get us to overpay.

If you're going to overpay. You do it for a great player. Burn them by going all for Lauri

I would still support the team but I feel we will regret getting Allen
