Vaccaro Impresses (1 Viewer)

For me, maybe the most impressive part of our defense last night was the performance of rookie Kenny Vaccaro.

I liked the way he seemed to "fly" around the field.

He led the team with 6 tackles...as a safety.

I don't know if others noticed this but he blew up the punt protector on each punt.

He is starting to remind me a lot of Troy Polamalu (hopefully without the injuries).

I think by the end of the preseason, Vacarro Has a good chance of taking over Harper's spot. And I personally hope he does.

I do not know why some say this? Is it because he is more of a fit as a free safety then a strong safety? Is it because it is better to have Roman Harper on the field with him then MJ?

I am only trying to understand the logic behind your statement is all. I would personally rather have him teamed up with MJ then Harper. The way it looks is that we may see Harper in more when we run three safety formations.

Jenkins was a great special teams player his first year. In my opinion, that was his best year.

Harper>Vaccaro>Jenkins.

Harper is a good (but not great) SS
Jenkins is a below average (but not awful) FS
Vaccaro looks like he can pay SS and FS equally well (based on what we've seen so far)

Best Combo = Harper @ SS + Vaccaro @ FS

But its only been one preseason game so far. Things can change.

Obviously bias for the "Gump". Jenkins and Vaccaro's versatility and speed alone make them better than Harper.

If you put Vaccaro and Harper out there you basically still have Jenkins and Harper but slightly better.

He does fly around a lot, but his over-aggressiveness seemed to take him out of position at times. He will reign in the nerves hopefully and play more under control.

Harper is [ - mod edit]. Quit being a tide homer. Harper shouldn't even be in the nfl.
